Meet Nani Nicole

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nani Nicole . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Nani , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I grew up in a Christian household and knew about God but I didn’t have a relationship with him. At the age of 14, I completely drifted as far away as I could have from God and what I knew to believe of Him. I didn’t want anything to do with God. Later that year I got pregnant. At the age of 15 I became so depressed after having my daughter because of personal issues that I tried committing suicide by taking a full bottle of pills. When I took them my mom found me (completely away and aware of what was going on) and took the empty bottle of pills from me. Turns out she read that I had I only taken her vitamins. I was then taken to the hospital only to be completely fine. I then gave my life to Christ and felt true meaning to life. I started to listen to music and dedicated my life to worshipping Him. I know lead worship along with over 3,000 people. I have found true purpose in Christ.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I lead worship locally in Houston, Texas for a living. I sing in both English and Spanish every single week all over the city. I enjoy going out the City to also lead worship when I have the chance. I am currently writing an EP along with some amazing producers and songwriters. I am working alongside some talented singers as well! I cannot wait to continue this road of music. Podcasts and YouTube devotional are currently in the works for the near future!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
If I could give any type of advice for those who are on the same road as me, it would be to 1. Always keep God in the center. Prayer and intimacy with the Lord is key. Seek first His kingdom, and everything else will come.
2. Say yes to every and any opportunity without expecting anything in return and doors will begin to open because of your loyalty and willingness to serve.
3. Never believe that you’ve learned all there is or reached your limit. Stay humble- there is always room to grow.

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
My husband and my father are both the reason why I am here today in life.

Without my fathers constant support, I would have given up. He taught me to never stop pursuing what I know God has called me to. One of his lessons that I hold onto everyday is to never think I am better than anyone else when doors open- to stay humble and serve others.

My husband has taught me so much! He’s been so selfless with his relationships and truly wanted me to succeed. He taught me practical leadership skills and really taught me not to take offense- which can become easy to fall in when dealing with so many different personalities.

I am so blessed to have amazing men in my life.
