We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nikki L May a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki L, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
How I found my purpose? The day I decided to decorate for an event & baked a batch of cupcakes for the guests! Everyone’s face light up with a beautiful smile once they saw how detailed everything was nicely decorated & the cupcakes were some of the best they’ve ever had! Is what I was told!

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m a Pastry Chef that’s vegan by heart, but can prepare traditional items as well. My homemade pastries are made fresh to order & will customize any order upon request. Such as Gluten Free options are available. I’ve provided personal chef experiences by preparing meals such as brunch, lunch or breakfast. Also, homemade breads, pastries & cakes are one of my favorites to make. Whether it’s vegan or traditional, I promise you it will be a great experience either way.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities, skills or areas of knowledge most impactful in my journey would be, having passion for what you love to do, being confident in yourself & knowing there’s always room for improvement & last but not least, being patient, consistent & positive throughout your journey.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was instilled in me to treat people the way I want to be treated. If you treat people good, be respectful & stay true to yourself, good things will come back to you! Because like the good book says, you reap what you sow.
