As engagement season ushers in a new wave of celebrations, Stefany Allongo is seeing 2026 weddings evolve into intentional, personality‑driven experiences that blend nostalgia, sustainability, and effortless sophistication. Through her work with Married in Palm Beach, she’s championing everything from joyful ’90s-inspired details and eco-conscious florals to multi‑day wedding weekends that feel more like curated gatherings than formal events. At the heart of it all is a clear shift: couples aren’t chasing trends for trend’s sake — they’re designing celebrations that feel deeply personal, rooted in place, and unmistakably them.
Hi Stefany, as you know we are huge fans of your work and greatly admire not just your creativity but your awareness of what’s hot and trending at any given moment. What trends are you seeing as we head into engagement season and 2026 weddings? Engagement season is officially here — and you have such a unique vantage point. What are the biggest trends you’re seeing couples gravitate toward for 2026, from aesthetics to experiences to overall vibe?
Engagement season is officially here and it’s my favorite time of year! Seeing all the proposals being shared makes my heart sing.
For 2026 weddings, we’re seeing a gorgeous blend of nostalgic aesthetics and modern intention. Think 90s-inspired details (think denim jackets, sequin Keds, and pops of color), sustainable floral designs, and elevated-but-effortless wedding weekends. Couples want celebrations that feel stylish but also meaningful. It’s all about “the perfect weekend with our favorite people” and that shift is driving everything from décor to venues to timelines.
You’ve mentioned that couples are leaning into 90s details, sustainable florals, and multi-day celebration weekends. What’s driving these shifts, and how are you seeing couples put their own spin on these ideas? Would love to hear some examples of how these trends are showing up locally — and what makes them feel fresh rather than nostalgic or overdone.
The shift is happening for a few reasons. First, the 90s comeback is pure joy! We are seeing the shift in fashion and decor, so it was only natural it would spill into the wedding world. Couples want a wedding that feels fun, not overly formal, and the 90s were all about playful inspiration. Check out some of our favorite ways to work in the 90s here (https://marriedinpalmbeach.com/retro-90s-romance/)
Second, sustainability is no longer a buzzword; it’s a value. Couples want florals that are eco-friendly but still lush, so we’re seeing local blooms, reusable installs, and creative repurposing between ceremony and reception. There are even companies that will take your wedding florals and repurpose them to make arrangements for nursing homes and hospitals. Allowing your florals to live beyond your wedding day.
Lastly for multi-day weekends, couples are realizing that one night just isn’t enough time with their favorite people. Here in the Palm Beaches, this looks like welcome parties at a local winery like Cugini Winery, rehearsal dinners on an Intracoastal sunset cruise with Visit Palm Beach, and rooftop farewell brunches at The Ray or other favorite spot. These trends feel fresh because couples aren’t copying old ideas, they’re remixing them to reflect their personality and their Palm Beach lifestyle.
A lot of couples today want a wedding that feels like them. How are you seeing people balance timeless elegance with the desire to make their celebration more personal and intentional?
Right now, it’s all about the “elevated personal moment.” We’re seeing classic silhouettes paired with custom accessories, elegant reception spaces paired with storytelling details, and timeless color palettes accented with hints of personality. Couples want a beautiful wedding, but they also want guests to walk away saying, “Wow, that was so them.”
That can look like a private last dance for the couple, handwritten notes at each place setting, locally inspired welcome bags (we love vintage postcard welcome notes!), signature drinks named after pets, or swapping traditional timelines for something that feels more intuitive to them. The elegance stays, but the rules don’t.
Palm Beach has such a vibrant wedding scene. From your perspective, what makes the area so special for both locals and destination couples planning their big day?
The Palm Beaches are this magical intersection of laid-back coastal charm and high-end sophistication. Couples get the best of both worlds: turquoise water, historic architecture, lush tropical gardens, and world-class hospitality.
But the real magic is the community. Our local wedding pros are wildly creative and genuinely collaborative. Whether you’re a born-and-raised local or flying in for a destination wedding, the Palm Beaches have this uncanny ability to make every couple feel at ease, inspired, and taken care of.
Married in Palm Beach has become the go-to resource for couples planning here. How did the platform come to be, and what gap were you hoping to fill for the local wedding community?
Married in Palm Beach was built out of a simple need. Couples planning to get married in the Palm Beaches needed a go-to guide that actually understood our unique market.
When I launched MIPB almost 10 years ago (our 10th anniversary is in April ), I wanted to connect couples with the incredible local wedding pros and stunning venues that make weddings here so special, and to do it in a fun, easy-to-use way. The goal was to take the stress out of Palm Beach wedding planning and put the joy (and the inspiration) back in.
For couples just getting engaged between Thanksgiving and Valentine’s Day, what’s the best way to use MIPB to kickstart their planning in a calm, organized, inspired way?
Start simple. Hop onto our vendor guides (https://marriedinpalmbeach.com/category/vendors/) to browse trusted local pros, scroll through our getting started article (https://marriedinpalmbeach.com/holy-smokes-getting-married/) for info you’ll actually want to screenshot, and check out our catalog of articles (https://marriedinpalmbeach.com/category/articles/) to give your advice and inspiration. We always tell newly engaged couples: take it step by step. Pick a vibe, pick a venue, pick your core vendors, and use MIPB to make each decision easier, calmer, and way more fun.
You work closely with so many local pros, creatives, and venues. What do you wish more couples knew about the talent that exists right here in the Palm Beaches?
Our local pros are absolute rockstars and they truly care about your experience. I’m partial to our Married in Palm Beach Family Members (https://marriedinpalmbeach.com/best-of-the-palm-beaches-2026/) as I have personally vetted each one, but all the Palm Beaches are filled with talented florists reimagining sustainable design, planners who curate weekend-long experiences, photographers who know how to catch that golden-hour glow, and venues with teams who treat your big day like their own. You don’t need to bring in a national “big name.” The talent you want is already right here, ready to bring your vision to life.
Looking ahead, how do you see weddings evolving over the next couple of years — and how is MIPB preparing to support couples through those changes?
We’re heading into an era of “intentional celebration.” Weddings will be more personalized, more experiential, and more reflective of couples’ values. Whether they are upholding traditions (like the bouquet toss), changing the tradition (giving it to the couple that has been married the longest), or doing away with it all together (opting for a group friend dance), it’s all about having a wedding that reflects who you are as a couple – and we are all for it!
At MIPB, we’re staying ahead by highlighting emerging trends, expanding our local vendor guides, and connecting couples with the fresh ideas and pros shaping what Palm Beach weddings look like next. Whatever the future holds, we’re here to make sure couples feel informed, inspired, and supported every step of the way.
