Joshland, you’ve expanded your business by introducing new and enhanced services to better meet clients’ needs—what inspired you to focus so strongly on flexibility and convenience as your core approach?
As we meet many clients, we see that most of their situations, time, constraints and budgets are all so different from one another. In order to accommodate their needs and wants for their homes, we knew we had to adjust our services as well as how we market them. We started to get calls from repeat customers, asking if we offered this service or that service and they really needed our help. Of course, we wanted to help as much as we could so this resulted in us evaluating what we currently offer and enhancing some of those services. Life is very demanding for all of us and everyone is so limited with time so the last thing on a person’s list may be decorating their home for the holidays or looking up ideas for staging inspiration, etc. Our goal has always been to make things as easy as possible for our clients so flexibility became a primary focus.
Can you walk us through how your new Personal Shopper & Concierge Service works and how it’s changing the way clients experience design and home styling?
Sure! Initially the Personal Shopper service was shopping for furnishings online for our customers. Our most popular package is the Full service option which offers everything from 3D Renders, shopping to installation. The Personal Shopper service is a less expensive option for those clients who may not have the time to shop but will order the furnishings based on our online recommendations and they will install themselves. The new Concierge service is an enhanced option to the Personal Shopper service. This service offers in-store shopping as well as online shopping and we will deliver those furnishings to the client. The Concierge service is very convenient for our busy clients. It meets their budget as well as saves them time. We do all the necessary shopping for them needed to complete the desired look as well as deliver it all to them. Now we do have situations where this service turns into a Full Service option. Some clients are overwhelmed by deciding placement of furnishings and the time to put everything together.
Your Christmas décor service has grown significantly over the past two years—what do you think is driving that demand, and how do you personalize each client’s holiday vision?
We absolutely love this service! As we are Christmas fanatics, we enjoy bringing this spirit into our clients’ homes. The driving demand is time! After busy work schedules, Christmas events & shopping, decorating gets delayed and when or if you get the time, it’s rushed! Most of our inquiries are last minute and we’re asked “Can you please squeeze me in?” We now have repeat clients for this service that does contact us months in advance to get on our schedule which is a big help. We try to make this experience fun and exciting for each client. Some clients may already have a Christmas theme in mind but need help bringing that to life and others may need examples. We provide examples and collaborate with each client to use their existing Christmas decor, if any, and enhance it by purchasing new decor. This is how we’re able to make each vision personal. We also incorporate favorite decor from their children as well as family traditions. To also, aid in managing hectic schedules at the beginning of the year, we also provide the option to remove all decor after the holiday season.
With residential and commercial staging, you’ve created budget-friendly options using both client and in-house furnishings—how does that flexibility benefit homeowners and realtors during the selling process?
Staging can really increase a seller’s chances of a fast sale. This service is well worth it, however, some buyers may see it as a hassle. We try to make this process as seamless as possible for homeowners. By allowing clients to use all or some of their furnishings, is less stressful and time consuming for them. If a home is occupied, we offer “homework” to get the home ready for pictures and showings. This alone can make a huge difference in the sale. The more of the client or realtor’s furnishings we use, the less expensive and time consuming the process can be. We do bring in needed furnishings and accents to create the best look for each area. As packing and moving can be a huge task, we try to avoid sellers to do this more than once. When working with realtors, this is very helpful as they represent the client and want to make this as easy as possible for them. We also have the option to use any of our realtors’ furnishings as needed. We all partner to best fit the needs of each homeowner while working to get the home sold as quickly as possible.
Looking ahead, how do you see these services evolving as your clientele and community continue to grow?
We do see a gradual process of growth with each of these services. As we meet and identify with new clients, we’re positively challenged to be more creative and flexible to meet the demands. We started this business with a strong desire to help others and this grows each year in some way, shape or form. We can vision A’ la carte’ services being added to these as well, depending on a client’s need. We have been privileged to have many repeat clients due to our detailed, flexibility and affordable services. We’re excited to continue to grow and help everyone who’s in need of our services.
