We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Mireille Siné a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Mireille, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
Some people are born knowing what they are meant to do. Others discover it along the course of life. When I was younger, I had a general understanding of what I wanted to do when I “grew up” – I wanted to be of service. Doing what I’m not sure, but I knew that I wanted to help people so early on I pursued careers that I thought were a good match. I once wanted to go into politics, then landed on Physical Therapy before shifting to Social Services where I finally realized how I had diverged from my path.
So, it was time to re-evaluate. In order to start living a purpose filled life, I had to think about the things I was interested in, the things I was already doing and the lifestyle I wanted to have. Exercise and movement have always played a big role in my life and I know that I enjoyed helping others get active as well. I decided it was time to complete my run coach certification and things took off from there! Coaching has been the perfect balance between my love of running and helping others enter or improve in the sport. I truly feel that I am now living my life’s purpose and I’m excited to see this dream grow!
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

So, are you ready to start something new?!
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Curiosity – Curiosity makes one a life long learner. Never assume you know everything or that you have all the right answers. It’s important to find new ways to grow.
Empathy – Take the time to get to know people, especially the ones who have supported you from day one. Understand that people come from all walks of life and our lives are richer for it.
Fearlessness – Never be afraid to try or you’ll never know if something might actually be a success. Failure is only redirection!
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
Over the years, I had to learn that rest wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. There are so many positives that come from slowing down. It helps avoid burnout and boosts creativity. When I am overwhelmed, I try to take a break from whatever I’m working on. I can watch some TV, read a book, play a game, or go on a walk – something to get my mind off things. Doing this helps me feel refreshed when I go back to the task and often times I’m able to find new solutions to a problem that had previously bother me.
