Meet Raoul Peter Mongilardi

We were lucky to catch up with Raoul Peter Mongilardi recently and have shared our conversation below.

Raoul Peter, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
Resilience is part of my DNA, the fabric that is woven in my body, mind and spirit. It’s a recipe, discipline+work ethic+passion=longevity and its cousin, “resilience.” Keep in physical shape to maintain the energy of the body and get rid of toxins, read and meditate, pray, be involved somehow out of your “self” to keep a perspective and try to help others and create, create, create. Never stop creating! No spelled back words is On.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I think Zeus hit me with a thunderbolt as a kid…ever since then I have been passionate and focused on creating, writing, conceptualizing. The first result of the thunderbolt was launching, NEXT TO THE GODS, my sci-fi series that later because it actually predicted an astronomical discovery, went viral on the Discovery YouTube Science short film entitled, “What The Flux.” Currently, my production company has a slate of 14 projects in scripted series and features and a gaming project for NEXT TO THE GODS that is very exciting with A list talent aboard!

Over the past year, I’ve had the honor of serving as Advisory Board Chair for the charity, Better Youth, Inc., a Los Angeles based organization that serves foster and youth of color to empower them in paid positions in the entertainment industry.

What I hope readers will do now is to find our NEXT TO THE GODS brand, and add to the steam of its engine.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Communication, is essential. Not just being articulate but as actors know, to listen is to communicate. Read, read, and read some more. Education and expanding our knowledge never ends.
Be true to yourself. You cannot live successfully subverting your inner spark to someone else.

Be comfortable in the process. But don’t waste time! Youth passes quickly, carpe diem! Seize the day, the moment, the hour, the week, month and year. Avoid procrastinating about anything because it is a symptom that spreads.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
My team and I are always reaching out to potential partners to collaborate and work together. We are looking for investors, fellow filmmakers, designers and talent in every area of entertainment and financing.
