Meet Elijah Nelson

We recently connected with Elijah Nelson and have shared our conversation below.

Elijah, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
The generosity deep down in me most definitely comes from my parents. Growing up my dad always taught me how to handle any situation whether it was giving, manners, etc. And my mom, she is just the most sweetest woman in the world and deserves the world, but you don’t want to get on her bad side. I was raised right. And that’s where my generosity definitely comes from them. I love them so much.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Let’s start from the beginning. There was a viral video creating app taking over the Internet called Tiktok. I ended up posting because I enjoy it. Next thing I know I started watching analytics skyrocket in numbers going up and doors were opened up to me that I would’ve never imagined. Just from being myself on the internet. Wild. So many of my most favorite celebrities that I adore to the core, noticed me for my videos, and it was just such a surreal moment for me. One being one of my people, I look up to in music, Miley Cyrus. I absolutely adore her. Also, Chloe and Halle Bailey. Me and my brother, Kennedy Nelson, sang an original for them to go on the ‘ On the Run II Tour’ with Beyoncé and Jay Z.
One of the best things about being an influencer is sharing music I am working on or what I love, and putting smiles on peoples faces, especially bringing a positive atmosphere to those who really need it.
In February 2022, I was featured on Billboard’s song breaker chart with Logitech for creators. August 2022, I was reached out by McDonald’s team, with a huge opportunity to do an official ad commercial for their Sprite. The crazy thing is they reached out to me on my birthday, so it was like such a cool birthday present and this is my first ever ad campaign. And am very grateful for the experience.
The start to 2023 opportunities were just flowing in a from worldwide brands. They were multi month campaigns. On TikTok, I do this coffee segment with my brother called, ‘It’s Coffee Time’ since 2021. And then, Dunkin reached out the beginning of this year to do an ad for their upcoming Dunkin run campaign. Just a month later from when Dunkin’s campaign ended- I got a call from super digital and they wanted me to join them in a celebration campaign for Microsoft word 10 year anniversary. I was beyond shocked in the best way possible because God was doing his big one. And he still is. I recently had a summer collaboration with target, showcasing a tour of the new and improved storefront location in Katy, Tx.
Never would I have thought that being myself on the Internet would get me to work with the brands that I love and have known my entire life! And currently I’ve been working on music full-time with Kennedy Nelson, my brother. Make sure to be on the lookout for that new music, because it’s dropping soon. We want to bring a new sound that we have been working on for over seven years. Our main goal is to give you everything you wouldn’t expect in one project. I if you check out my Instagram, you’ll see that I do model with everything I wear styled by me. I do plan on launching a joint clothing line.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Planning ahead. This was a complete game changer. Life for me has been rocky, so I really wanted to do good for myself and work for the things that I have now. One thing I always thought to myself into my supporters is to always do what makes you happy. It is 2023 baby, we don’t have time for the BS today! I cannot stress this enough. Please do what makes you happy. This made me a happier person.
Singing is a very important skill to me because I can express myself, like no other way. It is apart of me.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Out of the many challenges, I do have this one sticks out to me, because it’s not very easy. All the independent artists already know. So, if you make music and you’re an independent artist- I give you props. I am in a duo with my brother. We have been creating music together for the last seven years and going. One of the reasons why music is being held off for so long is because it’s pricey, and you have to budget every move you make in the industry. We are very big on quality and want to drop our masterpiece in the limelight when the time is right.
