Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amber Jordan. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Amber, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose when I started to speak out about my personal experiences & testimonies. I realized I love to teach others & empower women when I had my first speaking engagement. Me having the chance to tell my story and connect with others made me feel amazing. I didn’t have to rehearse what to say, I just let God use me and that’s EXACTLY what he did. I understand the importance of having a solid sisterhood and mentor who is honest and has good character. Coming from past experiences I would follow the wrong crowds, and get caught up on what was going on, on social media. My purpose today is to teach others to be their authentic selves while walking in their PURPOSE.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am the proud founder of Sisters Walking in Purpose, Professional Makeup artist, and content creator. Sisters walking in purpose was founded in June of 2023! We will officially be launching this September! The most exciting thing about being a founder of a women’s organization is having the ability to connect with women from all walks of life, and encourage them to walk in their purpose! As stated I understand the importance of having a GEUINE sisterhood. Being able to impact others, and see them win means the world to me.
When I was younger I had trouble fitting in because of the way I looked, and ultimately that made me feel insecure. My organization is a safe place for all women to love their selves out loud, break barriers, and THRIVE.
Our launch party will be September 15th, 2023 and we are so excited to connect with our “sisters” in person! We want them to know that whatever they go through we have their backs, with no judgement or motive’s.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The 3 most important qualities that were most impactful in my journey was having a Good character, Being honest, & Having a good worth ethic. My advice to anyone who is on the road to entrepreneurship is to work hard, and show up. Most people think entrepreneurship is a piece of cake but to be honest it’s actually harder than having a 9-Please understand that there will be times where you will go from having a bunch of sales to not having 1. But in those times you have to keep going and NEVER stop showing up for yourself. Be honest with yourself, and client at all times. NEVER set expectations that you know you can’t meet and have good character. Having good character and keeping your word will open doors skills won’t get you access to.
What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When I feel overwhelmed I pray, write in my journal, and take a break. My mind often scatters when I think about my goals, dreams, or aspirations. In those times I try to stop for a moment pray and take one step at a time. I’m such an over achiever that i want to do 10,000 thousand things at once and that can overwhelm me often. But I have realized that you can’t birth great things out of chaos. Special things take time to achieve, so don’t be afraid to take a break and slow down.
