We recently connected with Anjali Phougat and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Anjali, so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
To achieve something great in the world, you need passion in your life. when you are passionate about what you do, it does not matter if you are the only one or there are several people with many similarities. the point is when you really love and enjoy what you do, sucess follows.
The beauty of being a human being is that you cannot find a single person who is exactly the same as you are. Everyone is unique in their own way, and that is what makes our life interesting. The difference in each human being is arisen due to their background, situations they have to face in life and their attitude towards life. However, differences are meant to make life colorful and eliminate boredom.
The biggest barrier to appreciate and respect the uniqueness of others is a comparison and comparison encourages people to criticize the uniqueness of others. We all have been raised in the society full of comparison and criticism. So it is not easy to appreciate and respect the uniqueness of others but if you are focused on your passion and goals nothing matters.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Passion for designing and arts 2. Focus
3. Positive approach in Life
Advice:
Yearning for success is the basic human nature, and almost everyone wants to be successful in their lives but success is achieved by only those people who know what they want from their lives and then stick to it, no matter what. Success is not accidental; you have to put in time and effort to achieve it. As life is not a smooth journey so is the path of success. Hurdles are bound to come up on the way to success and discourage you to stop following your goal, but if you are diligent, you will have the ability to handle the tough phases of life to your advantage for smooth and early completion of tasks. So to be successful in every sphere of life, you need to practice diligence.
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Having a clear vision is essentia. It is the clarity of vision that gives not only the direction to life to follow the goal enthusiastically, but it also makes people passionate enough so that nothing or no one can discourage them. If you do not have a vision, you lose direction, motivation, passion, enthusiasm in life. On the other hand, if you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve in life, you will stay focused even if it appears tough and strives to be diligent so that you can transform your dream into reality. So if you want to gain diligence to be successful in life, you should make an effort to define your vision.
Advance Planning and stay organized: You live your life once, and it is your responsibility to make it worth. Your excuses are not going to keep you away from regrets in later part of your life. If you procrastinate because you do not have enough time to follow your goal at the moment due to family responsibility, then it simply means your goals are not in your priority list, and that is why the excuses are coming.
Priortize your goals: Giving importance to family responsibility is good for you but sacrificing your dream for them is not going to fill the gap in the lives of your loved ones, and at the same time you make a big hole in your happiness. So get rid of excuses and follow your dreams with diligence to live a happy and successful life.
