Meet Brooke Baron

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brooke Baron. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Brooke, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?

My resilience is something that I learned through my toughest times, I never wanted to give up on myself. It was never a thought that crossed my mind. Having my thyroid removed at 17 due to a nodule that was cancerous, choosing to not go to college and I choose to go into makeup, learning your craft in a strong atmosphere. Having been in makeup for 17 years for the movie industry and having an awakening. Decided to change my career, went back to school to become a licensed Esthetician to open my own business and sold my home to move back to where my family is. I’ve learned that when you keep moving forward it just kept taking me to my next moment of where I’m supposed to be. I’m stronger for going through some tough times or I’m not sure how this will turn out but I know I will be ok cause I can do it. This is where my resilience came from.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?

I’ve always loved art, colors, creating and putting it all together. It can be in my home, my work, my family or me. I love creating. I also love helping people. It feels so good to give back and knowing that you’re helping someone in what they’re needing. I’m thankful to be opening a suite for skin care, wellness and makeup. Everything that I’ve done over the years is now coming all together. I look forward to being able to help people with what they’re needing.
My business that I’m opening is called Brooke Baron Aesthetics , opening this Spring. I’ll be offering Microcurrent /lift Facials, Microchanneling for Face and Hair, chemical and enzyme peels, lash lift&tint, brow lamination and tint, along with makeup services for special occasions, pictures or on your special day. Very excited to bring all of this to everyone and anyone looking to get a healthier version of themselves.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?

Someone that I was assisting as a key makeup artist said to me,”the day you think you know it all, is the day you shouldn’t be working.” I took that as, that’s when you stop learning. So I won’t shut my door to knowledge, peoples opinions, lessons along the way and myself. I look at people and acknowledge them when they’re talking. Be present and in the moment. You get more out of it and hear what you’re needing.
These are what help me to move forward with ease and what matters to become a better version of what you want for yourself. Also a lot happier .

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?

What I’ve learned is that taking one day at a time and do good at what you’re learning, working on or becoming is when you get strong. Get good at doing the things that you might not like or don’t want to do but you know would help. When I do this in everyday life or work and I take that moment to get good at something that’s tough for me, I open another door that I never thought was going to open and a better understanding. I enjoy the moment more when I’m taking the time to be patient in whatever it is.
There’s no need to rush, life isn’t that serious and it’s meant to be lived. So take your time in the journey of it all. I’ve had an incredible ride and there’s so much more !
