Matthew, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Jus being myself. I respect everybody and what everybody says an how they feel.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Lately I’ve been focused on my clothing brand “coastgoat”.. its mainly jus my followers on social media . Alot from my Instagram “lilmatt2018” or tick tock “thereallilmatt2021” . I have been fortunate to have ufc stars like jorge masvidal wear it and some known hip hop artist wear it as well..
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Jus being relentless and not letting other peoples advice discourage me from doin what I want to do. Biggest thing is advertising yourself or your brand .
Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Sometimes I jus step away from whatever is giving me problems and come back to it with a fresh look at it. That helps alot with problems that come up with alot of things in life .
