We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Maddie Linnartz. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Maddie below.
Maddie, we can’t begin to explain how much we appreciate you sharing about your PPD experience, but we can say that so many in our community are suffering from or have suffered from postpartum issues including postpartum depression and so you sharing your story and how you overcame it might help someone who is going through it right now or in the future. What can you share with us about how you overcame PPD? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
I had to ask for help, a lot of moms don’t want to ask for help because they want to do it all themselves cause society sees it as woman’s job to do it all. When at the end of the day ask for the help, I had a hard time doing it, but I know I needed the help! Self care is also a big one. If we are caring for ourselves the better we can care for our babies.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
Well, first off, I’m a full time mama to a beautiful boy! I do a bunch of different things, but I consider myself a micro-influencer. Some of the things I do are, running my blog, a podcast, and like 8 different social medias! I love also doing promotional work for companies. For example they send a product to me and I try it out and be paid for it or just get to keep the item!
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Some of the most important skills I learned in this journey and just anything I learned in general is, first give yourself some grace. Doing a job like this has a lot of work and as a full time mom it’s even more, but it can be done. I’m doing it, a lot of moms do it. You’ll end up loving it once you get in the swing of things. Another important skill I learned is to stick to a certain theme. You don’t want a million different topics you cover because then you won’t grow because of how the algorithm works, it’s super complicated to explain but trust me this is job is so worth it and so fun!
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I would love to Colab with others! My niche is generally anything mom life related, lifestyle, blogging. So, if you’re a mama or a lifestyle influencer (posting your daily life basically and tips) then let’s collaborate!
