We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ava Lee Rose a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ava Lee Rose, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I would have to say that over the years I have developed a sense of knowing I am worthy and well trained despite how much rejection and challenges you face in the entertainment industry. No matter how many or Who may say NO to you, just know that the right yes is out there and will change your life as you know it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have been acting and modeling since I was 5. I can’t believe it’s been 4 years already. Time fly’s when you’re having fun for sure. Throughout the years, I have been trained by some of the Industry’s most prestigious coaches and mentored by the best mentors both in Minnesota and Los Angeles. I have the honor of being represented by the best youth agent in the game Haydn Jones at the amazing Luxe Talent Agency, as well as managed by Discover Management founded by the late Great Debra Lynn Findon. I just recently within the past 2 years got into writing and performing my own music. So, you can say I am finding myself musically but am loving every artistic aspect of being myself creatively. The entire world is a stage, and I am definitely going to play my part.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Hmmmm. One of my best qualities is I am to be able to feel free to be me and not box myself into certain categories, genres, typecast, etc. You can never be yourself if you are limited or restricted in any way. I love working with other creatives to challenge and push myself to adapt and learn from others. Also, finally I would say the strength and endurance to work hard through anything. So… To sum it all up. Freedom to be you, love and learn from others, and good work ethics will get you where you are destined to be in life.
To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
My parents Believe in me and push me to be my best. They never have been the “oh that’s so cute, you’re so good” type of parents. When I mess up, they tell me how to improve with love and guidance. If something doesn’t look or sound right, they give me proper criticism to correct my course instead of simply telling me what to do. They have been my strongest supporters and the most critical to help guide me. For this and much more, I truly wouldn’t be me without them. In more ways than I can truly express.
