We recently connected with Rachel Martindale and have shared our conversation below.
Rachel, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
A lot of trial and error and time spent on developing my craft. I still struggle with confidence level but each day is more experienced learned.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I own a bakery called Milk + Honey which makes wedding cakes and wholesale pastries. We donate 15% profit to local charities.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Resilience, patience, and authenticity. Don’t let the setbacks and inevitably challenging moments keep you from pursuing your goals.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
We currently don’t have a location for the business because we had to move out of our previous one. It’s been challenging to operate a bakery without a kitchen, but we are thankful for the generosity of other local businesses to let us rent their space. This situation has forced us to scale up and try to find another option.
