Meet Leia Rodas

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Leia Rodas a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Leia, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I was born into an impoverished family, since I was 13 years old. I had to work and make sure I was a straight A student, with that being said from a young age I had to learn how to manage my time the best way possible and prioritize my goals to have a better future. I had several jobs, from sales theater acting, cleaning, teaching etc. Every position allowed me to acquire a professional skill and work ethic for what I need to become a business owner today.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I own and operate my skin studio – Organic Skincare by Leia, located in Seminole Heights Tampa. At the studio along with two other therapists I offer Holistic Services and a variety of Organic Skincare Treatments, along with day spa services like massages, reiki and Sound Therapy.

My goal is to educate my clients on proper skincare, enhance their natural beauty using only organic, natural and safe ingredients. My approach is to treat skin as a whole, help them understand the importance of practicing self care not only to look good but to feel mentally and physically well.

My newest service is Sound Therapy, a way to enhance healing through the body and help clients to easily relax.

During this session, client is laying down comfortably and I’ll guide them into a meditation, while they are listening to crystal singing bowls. Frequencies and vibrations of these instruments are able to travel through the body, balance brainwaves creating a sense of deep relaxation that promotes healing.

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Overwhelmed is a constant struggle for me, and I’m not ashamed to share about it. I think having a business and operate every task is a big challenge and it takes lots of self empathy.

When I’m overwhelmed I tell myself: I’m doing my best and I’ll prioritize what is most important today, because every other tasks will still be there tomorrow.

Even if you try to do everything the excellence can’t be there 100%, what is better ? To get most important things done and done right … or burn yourself out to prove you can do everything but deliver an average result?

In the end of the day, you can’t control anything only your mindset.
