We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ronni Grandberry. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ronni below.
Ronni, we are so deeply grateful to you for opening up about your journey with mental health in the hops that it can help someone who might be going through something similar. Can you talk to us about your mental health journey and how you overcame or persisted despite any issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
I have overcome my mental health issues by first admitting that I struggle with my mental health. Also, talking about what my triggers are to a person that I trust, and sometimes Journaling helps me.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As a teenager I was always interested in photography. I would buy disposable cameras to take photos of friends at school and family members. I always wanted to capture memories. So I started a photo album of all of the photos I would take of my journey through high school. Once I started my own family, I asked my husband for a camera, and he bought me one for Christmas. Since then I’ve been capturing not only my families memories, but also the memories of my clients families. Right now I’m really passionate about branding photography, and assisting my clients with professional photos for their business. It’s exciting for me to see someone else get their business up and running, and seeing the photos that I took on their websites.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The 3 most impactful skills in my journey would be:
1. Being a excellent communicator
2. Being multifaceted
3. Being determined
Advise I would give to someone who is early in their journey, never be afraid to ask for help. Find someone who is knowledgeable in whatever it is you want to do, and ask them to mentor you.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am always interested in collaborating with other photographers, stylist, designers and business owners. I would like to host an editorial style production in my hometown of Kansas City, MO. Something that will put the spotlight on other young professionals in the city. I would like to bring the spotlight on KC for something positive.
