Meet Dennis Marsico

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Dennis Marsico. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Dennis, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
I’ve always believed in the phrase, ‘obstacles are what you see when you take your eyes off the goal’ I try to live by that belief and by doing so it keeps my optimism strong. It’s not easy being optimistic and there are certainly challenges that detour or divert your attention but centering back to aiming for your goals keeps my optimism alive.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
After many years of working in live entertainment, film and television I have taken my knowledge and created my own company called Marsico Creative. I develop and communicate a creative vision for projects for various clients that aligns with their goals and brand identity. I love to work with creative teams and provide feedback and guidance through the creative process to assure that the outcome is of the highest standard. My passion is to help clients create a unique offering or experience that exceeds expectations. Currently I am working closely with Princess Cruise Lines developing new entertainment offerings and experiences for a new ship they are launching in 2024.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back I think having a creative curiosity and open mind allowed me to elevate my journey through the world of entertainment. I was always willing to explore new ideas and never rested on past experiences . Allowing myself to be curious led to experimintation and a continuous quest for improvement. My advice to anyone starting on their creative journey is to always find ways to improve and never get too comfortable. Remember to learn from your mistakes and move on. Always have a self awareness and allow yourself to be vulnerable.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I love the feeling of being in the room with creatives with a blank slate and producing something collaborative. I love exploring all mediums and am open to a creative think tank to push the boundaries of creativity and discuss future projects. Most of the incredibly creative ideas are never produced by just one person. It takes synergy and harmonizing minds for a successful outcome.
