We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
When I find myself being the only one in the room who looks like me, I draw strength from my faith and the unwavering belief that God has placed me there for a purpose. I remember that my identity is rooted in Christ, and He has equipped me with unique talents and perspectives to make a difference.
In those moments, I lean on the lessons I’ve learned from the Bible, particularly the stories of individuals who faced adversity and overcame challenges. I reflect on Joseph’s resilience, Daniel’s unwavering faith, and Esther’s courage to stand up for what’s right. Their stories inspire me to embrace my identity and convictions, even when they set me apart.
Prayer is my anchor. I seek God’s guidance to navigate those situations with grace, wisdom, and humility. I also remind myself that I am not alone; God is with me every step of the way. His presence gives me the confidence to speak up, contribute my unique perspective, and be a positive influence in the room.
I believe that diversity brings strength and innovation. When I am the only one who looks like me, I see an opportunity to share my experiences, broaden perspectives, and promote understanding. By staying true to my faith and relying on God’s guidance, I am able to be effective and successful, even in spaces where I stand out. Ultimately, I strive to create a positive impact and make room for others who may follow a similar path.

Our mission is to inspire and support women of faith, aged 35-55, as they navigate the various facets of their lives. We are building a safe and nurturing community space where women can come together, share experiences, and grow spiritually.
What makes Kolored On Purpose truly special to me is the way it brings women together from different walks of life, connecting them through their shared faith journey. Through our resources, events, and products, we encourage women to embrace their unique identities and talents while deepening and strengthening their relationship with God. It’s a privilege to witness the transformations and connections that take place within our community.
One of the most exciting aspects of Kolored On Purpose is the way we blend faith and fashion. We believe that what we wear should reflect our inner values and beliefs. Reflecting on my journey, there were three qualities that stood out as particularly impactful in shaping my path: faith, resilience, and the power of community.
1. **Faith:** My unyielding faith in God has been the cornerstone of my journey. It’s what empowers me to take bold steps, overcome challenges, and trust that my purpose is divinely orchestrated. For those beginning their journey, nurturing a strong faith foundation is key. Spend time in prayer, seek guidance in Scripture, and lean on your faith as a source of strength. Know that even in the face of uncertainty, your faith can guide you through.
2. **Resilience:** The journey of entrepreneurship and ministry isn’t without its obstacles. Resilience is crucial in persevering through setbacks and staying committed to your mission. Embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and grow. Develop a mindset that views failures as stepping stones toward success.
