We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ameena Zeeba a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ameena, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Wildlife photography gave me the opportunity to relearn nature as I spend time truly observing all the angles of nature . The observation of animal behavior and importance of roles animals play in the eco system brought me to appreciate and truly realized the true purpose to use photography as a tool educating the important of Wildlife Conservation.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am wildlife photographer focused on forest preservation and wildlife conservation. I held on to the camera not to long ago and started my exploration from backyard to all different parts of the world. I want to learn and teach the future generations the importance through photography and videography. I use my social media platform to meet and collaborate with photographers and biologists and other explorers through out the world with similar goal in mind. I have been traveling and spending time in different parts of the world like, India, Costa Rica ,Africa and always exploring United States. There is so much to explore and this is just the beginning.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Although I had time and financial situation to pursue such a hobby which turn into a passionate journey toward wildlife conservation. I would deeply advise everyone to always have thirst for knowledge before you hold a device or platform to convey message. If and when you do decide to choose wildlife photography the three skills I would strongly recommend is be technically savvy , know your subject and environment, third is knowing the right people to guide you through the process. Having these three skills will surely give you progress along with your handwork and focus.
If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
I will spend it exploring the world of Nature & Animal and then educating it , hoping for future generations to love and appreciate and take care of it.
