Having hates is an inevitable part of any bold journey – everyone who has made a difference in the world has had doubters and critics. As natural as haters might be, in the age of social media it’s become harder and hard to ignore them – and so we asked some brilliant creatives and entrepreneurs to tell us how they deal with haters.

Neither of my parents have college degrees, and so in some respects, the odds were stacked against me at finishing college. My brother was the first in our family to get a bachelors. I completed my bachelors, and after a few years, decided to pursue my doctorate and completed that as well. Read more>>

I first off will like to say that everyone somehow needs haters or nay sayers in their life. The reason I’m saying this is that when you have people hating or saying no to you, personally it pushes me or encourages me to keep striving and do better to prove to myself that I’m not a failure or what they I am.I always capitalize on people like that to spur me on.When you don’t have people like that you become complacent Read more>>

We always make sure to keep in mind the ultimate objective, the reason we ever began this collective, and the motivations behind our actions. We can resist the hate by putting our mission and purpose first and making sure we never lose sight of them. We are willing to do whatever is required to assure success because when you are doing something as significant as what we are doing, hate is bound to accompany you. Read more>>

Persisting despite haters and naysayers requires a combination of determination, belief in one’s vision, and a supportive network. I’ve stayed consistent and focused on my goal, even when faced with low attendance and doubts. I found strength in the encouragement of the owners of Hadiyah’s Dream, Mr. Frank and Ms. Von, who believed in my vision. Read more>>

Honestly, nay-sayers, haters, etc don’t bother me at this point in my life. As a kid, yes only because when you are younger, we care a lot about what other people think, etc. but as I got older and realized it’s their own fears that they are trying to project onto me. So now that I am aware of that, it doesn’t stop me from doing anything I want to do. Read more>>

From day one of my career on social media/ in the world I’m in I knew there’d be people that would try to stop me and un- motivate me. At first I was scared of not being liked but I learned quickly that it meant i was doing something right! I always loved the quote “Behind a successful person lies a pack of haters”. Persistence can be challenging. Especially when you hear/ receive the negativity from haters and/ or nay sayers. But just like everything else in life, it’s all about perspective. I take a moment to step back and think, to realize where & why that negativity comes from/ exists. Read more>>

Well first … no one can stop or delay your journey but you. I’ve had people who tried to destroy me, ruin my business and even tell me I should stop but why would I listen to them? As someone who grew up as the oddball, it started with accepting the fact that I’d never “fit in”. I was always told I shouldn’t play the guitar because it’s corny or I’m “trying to be white”. I was told I should be less of a goofball and be more like the guys running around in the streets. Fast forward to 2023 and I’m getting paid to be a goofball and play the guitar. Why change what you’re doing because of the opinions of narrow minded people? Read more>>

My biggest response to negativity is my success. Everyone has an opinion it’s like a “butt hole”. People are going to project their fears on your through many different avenues, you’re job is to say “okay, thank you,” and KEEP IT MOVING on the path you and the universe agreed to. Once you come up with an idea and you present it to the whoever, they may not think it’s a great idea. Read more>>

People have looked at me like my ideas were ineffective and impossible. I’ve had teachers telling me that I should consider a career change. I have had family members tell me that my ideas were not great and directly tell me that I don’t know what I want. I’ve never been someone to follow the expectations of society and have always done my own thing and set my own goals. Read more>>

There’s a lot of opinions out there, but not every one matters. What matters is what you tell yourself, and knowing that you are the person you will talk to the most during your lifetime, we need to make sure it’s positive thoughts and uplifting beliefs. I tell this same thing to all the youth I speak during my school assemblies focused on bullying prevention and suicide awareness because self-doubt, especially the kind coming from other people’s hatred can really take a toll on our mental psyche. That’s a great question, to which I don’t have a concrete answer for. Honestly, I just keep it moving. There’s no real way to battle off the haters. There will always be a group of people who can’t stand you, and hate to see you succeed. I simply like to think everyone who goes out of their way to insult, belittle, or put someone down on purpose is projecting a deeper rooted issue within themselves onto the next person. The famous saying goes: misery loves company. Read more>>

I am able to persist because I have a lot of confidence and good self -esteem . I’m not phased by anyone who talks about me negatively because we all are entitled to our own opinions. I also think if someone is speaking negatively on me that says a lot about who they are . I know who I am and I am confident in who I am . I get to do what I love and I’m happy . Why would I let a little hate stop that ? It motivates me . I’m only in competition with myself . Read more>>
