We recently connected with Verrin Cofield and have shared our conversation below.
Verrin, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I developed Confidence from overcoming adversity and obstacles, nothing builds confidence and character better than adversity looking you in the face and demanding you to overcome it. As adversity becomes repetitious, you learn to become resilient and handle it with confidence everytime. Being able to handle complex circumstances with poise as you go through life, gives you confidence in all aspects in life.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I produce and write films, my first feature film “It’s On You,” premiered on Amazon Prime July 20,2022. Im currently in the developmental stages of my second feature film called “Let It Go,” that’s set to shoot in Atlanta this summer. I have two other screenplays that I will get greenlighted at the end of 2023, and im looking to film both projects in 2024 in New York City.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Work ethic, Dedication, and Resilience. My advice to anyone is to be ready for things always not to go you’re way, and expect to have multiple setbacks. When this happens, make sure you have a great work ethic, that will make you keep you’re head down and figure the situation out, doesn’t matter how complex. Dedication will make sure you follow things through once you figure them out, and Resilience is what will eventually make you prevail in what you”re pursuing.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
Self awareness understanding the true value I bring, and letting go people around me that is not about moving forward in their own lives. Its really important the type of people you keep around you.
