Meet Shannon Jones

We were lucky to catch up with Shannon Jones recently and have shared our conversation below.

Shannon, thank you so much for joining us and offering your lessons and wisdom for our readers. One of the things we most admire about you is your generosity and so we’d love if you could talk to us about where you think your generosity comes from.
I come from a parents that will help anyone! I was raised in a family that valued giving back to others. My parents always taught me that it’s important to help those less fortunate than ourselves. I measure the impact of my giving by looking at the number of people I’m able to help and the positive changes I’m able to make in their lives.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My story starts off at the beginning of the pandemic. I was working at the hospital as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. At this point, I was surrounded by death from Covid-19. I didn’t feel like I was helping the world anymore so I started to look for other careers/side hustles. Body sculpting came to mind because I like to empower people to become a better version of themselves and She Drips LLC was born. I obtained certificates in body sculpting and later took on post-op clients part-time. That’s when I knew I found my niche! Helping others recover after plastic surgery has been fulfilling and rewarding. Finally, I felt safe leaving my hospital job and dedicating my time to something I’m more passionate about. Because my client for post op weren’t getting all the information they need I wrote The Guide to Liposuction, BBL, and Tummy Tucks. My book is available on Amazon. My story continues into the Permanent Makeup world. When my client started complaining about their scars so I found a solution. I’ve added scar and stretch mark camouflage to my list of services along with lip blushing. Now, I try to prioritize my PMU services over any body sculpting.

I realized I really enjoyed building a successful businesses, so I stared SDJ Investor. With this business I am able to still see my clients and make extra money. Real estate had always been a goal for me and its no time like the present.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey are Integrity, honesty, and self improvements. As a new business owner, You are your business. who you are and your personality will be what gains you customers/ clients. I like to think I have the best clients because of my personality. If you don’t enjoy engaging with new people frequently then don’t start a business that is service based. Let’s take a step back to when I said honesty and integrity. Both of those things helped me grow my business in a steady manner. Clients are more willing to spend money with business owners who are honest and live in integrity.

How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Currently, I am facing a challenge of finding a balance between work life and home life. I think I have found a solution by providing high-ticket items to clients, which frees up some of my time to spend with my family. However, I do not like to increase my prices, so the struggle has always been finding that balance. I know my worth, but I still do not charge it.

My second challenge is posting on social media. In today’s society, business owners must post on social media. I find it quite awkward to take pictures of people to post online just to get more clients. It’s a mental thing for me, or maybe it’s because I’m a millennial, but proving myself online has not been fun for me mentally. I still haven’t found a solution to this problem, but in the near future, I’m going to do what’s best for myself.
