Hi Arischa, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
I took a class with actress Christine Horn who did a lot of mindset work with me. Through her teachings coupled with my working hard on how I viewed myself really encouraged a sense of confidence in me. I realized that I am enough, and who I am is unique and wonderful. Learning to really love who you are is a game changer.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am an actress and award winning audiobook narrator. I am best known for my recurring role in Hulu’s Emmy Award winning limited original series, Dopesick, alongside Michael Keaton. Some of my other credits include recurring co-star roles in the Apple TV+ series, Swagger, directed by Reggie “Rock” Bythewood (CBS) and The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey alongside Samuel L. Jackson. I’ve also appeared as a guest star on All American (The CW), The Resident (Fox) and Mike (hulu) as Dr. Maya Angelou. As an audiobook narrator, I am an Audiophile Earphones award winner and I have been nominated for the prestigious Audie Award that recognizes excellence in narration. I am currently signed with JPervis Talent Agency (Atlanta), Pantheon Talent (LA) and managed by Natarsha Garcia (AGI Management). I credit the unconditional love and support from my husband Craig and my daughter Dyneise as my biggest successes.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
For me, being open to learn, being nice and persistence. If you’re open to learn, the journey towards knowledge never ends. Being kind is not ony needed in this world we live in, but it’s just so much easier to be nice to people. Persistence to me means never giving up. If you never give up you will always have hope and continue on your journey towards what makes you happy.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
As an actor, I am always open to new partnerships and collaborations. Working with creative and passionate individuals is what drives me and pushes me to create my best work.
