Meet Sarah McClure

We were lucky to catch up with Sarah McClure recently and have shared our conversation below.

Sarah, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
I consider myself an incredibly generous person, and I offer my generosity to others because it’s who I am! I LOVE helping others, being a part of their solution, etc. Giving my time, skills, and personality is something that drives me forward. Seeing how I make an impact on someone else’s life is truly what drives me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hiii, I’m Sarah! I’m a destination wedding + elopement photographer who thrives on adventure and offering an experience you can’t get elsewhere!

I began my photography career over a decade ago and have been closing in on my niche and projects that I love over the last five years. Capturing a couple’s authentic love and helping pause their love story in time fuels my internal fire!

Seeing a client become emotional about the images I’ve given them makes it all worth it! I want to see my work leave a lasting impact on othrs.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Something that was incredibly impactful for me was investing in my education. If you’re not learning and growing, you’re staying stagnent, and that’s not something I would ever want to sell my clients! Prioritizing my client experience has helped me and my business success. Defining the things that are important to me and my clients are how I have continued to move forward.

Do you think it’s better to go all in on our strengths or to try to be more well-rounded by investing effort on improving areas you aren’t as strong in?
As I’ve grown as a photographer I have honed in on the style of photos that I enjoy. i.e. I don’t offer newborn sessions, family sessions, etc. While I know how to do them, I find that I dread doing them. Those type of shoots don’t speak to me the same way an elopement does, and I know in order to offer the best service possible I have to be passionate about the project. By narrowing what I offer to be only thing I love I’m able to offer the most magical experience! I think you should know how to do other things, but become a master at what you love and it won’t feel like work!
