Meet Aamber Mckinney-Williams

We were lucky to catch up with Aamber Mckinney-Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.

Aamber, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
I have developed my confidence and self esteem through several factors. Me building confidence came from the many failures that I’ve encountered in my life. I have always been pretty optimistic so I have always been willing to try almost anything atleast once (besides sky diving lol) Growing up I never really had an adult figure to give me the proper guidance about the ups and downs in life and how to face challenges when they came, so most of my experiences came from my decision making, thinking and trial and error. Through this process I developed the confidence to know that anything that you put focus, time and effort into can flourish into greater. I also grew to learn that one problem can have many different solutions and to always think outside of the box and improvise whenever necessary. I carried those same values with me from childhood through adulthood and today now being an entrepreneur and business owner. My self esteem just followed. Through my many successes and determination to never give up I have grown to always believe in myself, my talent and abilities.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
As an entrepreneur I am always looking to self develop. Not only as a business owner but as a leader and person. I am focused on professional development which will in turn help with developmental processes of my business. I am looking to focus on networking with other local business owners an entrepreneurs and possibly collaborate on business endeavors in the near future. I am excited about the future and what’s to come! I am excited about the events that Visions Beauty will be participating in soon so be on the look out! I am looking to expand the team with Bounce House Visions so we are very excited about that as well! Queen’s Notary & Services is expanding their location of service which will help us reach more clients! I am just overall excited for the changes and new innovations that are to come in 2023!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Looking back I believe that 3 qualities that helped me in this journey has been 1)Patience, most of my greatest achievements have came in uncertain times and not exactly when I was expecting them to come, so I have learned patience is important because its coming we just don’t know when! 2) Leadership, me being a natural born leader has really helped my in my journey because helping others to succeed has always been a passion and not only does my leadership skill help to develop others it has definitely helped to develop me. 3) Self-discipline , I am big on self discipline because being an entrepreneur and business owner is totally different than being a 9-5 employee. You generally do not have any boss to guide you in productivity and processes so you have to develop self discipline to ensure those tasks are completed regardless and you hold yourself accountable to ensuring that. My advice to anyone in their early stages of entrepreneurship or being a business owner would be to not give up, it may sound like a simple task to achieve but just know that if it were easy then everyone would be doing it!

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
The book “The richest man in babylon” has played an important role in my self development. It has shown me many important factors that even in todays time are still true and facts. There are not many ways to build wealth but if you never gain the right mindset surrounding building wealth you will never achieve it. It showed me that regardless of the times there are tried and true best practices that anyone can use and adopt in order to build true generational wealth.
