Meet Steven Puri

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Steven Puri. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Steven below.

Hi Steven, you’ve got such an interesting story, but before we jump into that, let’s first talk about a topic near and dear to us – generosity. We think success, happiness and wellbeing depends on authentic generosity and empathy and so we’d love to hear about how you become such a generous person – where do you think your generosity comes from?
In life, we often find role models and we mimic their attitudes, beliefs, behaviors. This is as true for me as anyone. I’ve been very fortunate to watch first-hand how we can create the world around us. When I got my first job in film, I worked for a CEO who was very generous with the crew, his staff, his talent. It was interesting how he created a field around him in which people felt safe and protected, and therefore felt free to do their best creative work. I do believe that this sprang from his personal belief that the world provided for you. The happiness that surrounded him was not because he was particularly “lucky” in a random way, but rather that he manifested events that were a projection of what he believed should happen…and he interpreted random events in a way that betrayed his deep humanity. I loved that and I try in my everyday life to think not “what action can I take?” but rather “what will the effect of my action be on the other person?”

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
This past week I bought my company completely from my old business partner and I rebranded it. I now call it “The Sukha Company.”

Modern life puts so much pressure on you to produce – it overwhelms you with inputs, distractions, obstacles – when what we want is a clear, unobstructed path to do the great things of which we are capable. And when you are able to do this – focus and feel “in the zone,” happiness is the result. High productivity is the result. Lower stress is the result.

“Sukha” is the Sanskrit concept of happiness, being in a good place. “Sukha” literally translates as “good place.”  The kind of happiness that comes from being in your lane, doing what you are great at.

We created an online community that you can join on your laptop while you work. Beautiful music plays…your distractions are blocked…AI Coaches keep you on track…and your tribe cheers you on.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Curiosity – the quest to always know “why?” and “how?” If you are hungry for this, you will keep peeling back the layers of truth in The Universe.

Persistence – you will fail many times before you succeed.

Honor – the road is long. You will keep meeting the same people and whether they love or hate you, they will always remember if you kept your word.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
Coaches and Community Organizers.

We built a platform for people who have an audience to give their audience a beautiful container to support each other and achieve great things. Happily we have attracted hundreds of influential individuals who have created groups on The Sukha and we are always looking to support more of them.
