Rachel, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
If i’m being honest, my faith and coming from a family of “doers” created the work ethic that I have. In my family slacking isn’t an option. I mean if you do slack there’s no room to complain about not having the life or things that you want because you haven’t done what’s necessary to achieve it. One of my favorite scriptures is Habakkuk 2:2-3. It talked about writing the vision and not deterring from that vision even if you don’t see the fulfillment immediately. It’s something that lives in my head rent free.
I often tell myself “Write the vision, Make it plain, DO THE WORK, and then prepare for the manifestation”. Keeping this in mind I know that everything will work out for my good when the time is right. I’ve seen it happen time and time again.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My name is Rachel “Rae Denise” Johnson. I’m an Entrepreneur, Brand Strategist & Visionary. A Hometown Girl, Making a Legendary Impact. I’m a native of Northwest Baltimore, MD.
Initially I founded my company Limitless Consulting Solutions, back in 2014, but it wasn’t until 2019 that it truly came to life after walking away from my 9-5 and entering into full-time entrepreneurship. In January of this year (2023) I completely restructured Limitless. I am now the CEO/Founder of Legendary Industries, LLC, the parent company of Limitless Strategies a boutique luxury strategy agency that specializes in: Brand Strategy, Business Solutions, Corporate Event Logistics, 1-on-1 Coaching, Idea Strategy, Social Media Strategy and Website Development. Long story short…I help business owners identify and cultivate their “WHY”. Under this entity, I also own Legendary Adventures Travel Experience. Both companies were birthed from my passions: branding, marketing, and travel.
I help my clients develop content and communicate their stories effectively to gain maximum visibility. As your brand strategist, I have become a part of your team. I create a tailored approach that allows us to develop our client’s brand identity, increase their overall brand presence, and grow their digital footprint.
Last July, I hosted my very first Masterclass “Becoming Legendary” with the help of 2 of my favorite #businessbesties Regan Farley (Public Relations Guru) and Sheena “Ray” Simms (Financial Coach) to help business owners and aspiring business owners move from stuck to manifested vision. While the outcome was more intimate than the initial vision, it was perfect! I had 10 people in the room and those 10 people left with clarity, new tactics to implement into their business and new vision. It was during that Masterclass that I learned that I love to coach people, help them build their brand and truly cultivate their WHY.
So I launched a 2.0 if you will. The Becoming Legendary VIP Accelerator is a luxury 1-on-1 experience for entrepreneurs and brands that aren’t prepared to tie into a committed contract but understand they need to establish a solid brand identity for their business or upcoming project. The Becoming Legendary VIP Accelerator is broken down into two four-hour sessions of strategic planning for each participant. During Session 1 we focus on auditing your brand and identifying strategies and tips to help you grow; while Session 2 is focused on content to help you succeed! Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
I couldn’t have gotten here today if it wasn’t for my ability to pivot, knowing the importance of having an entrepreneur village, and my determination to constantly evolve. As entrepreneurs, I believe that these three qualities are what keep us grounded.
To those that are early in their journey, I want to let you know how important it is to always remain flexible. Know how to pivot because no matter how much you plan, things can go awry. Just because the plan alters doesn’t mean that you should drop your vision. Have the desire to genuinely inspire people who come behind you or even those who are coming up with you. Not for recognition, but to create a village of support! Being an entrepreneur is far from easy and people that aren’t entrepreneurs honestly could never understand what you’re experiencing. Having a village of people chasing the same goal helps when you’re ready to throw in the towel. Finally, never stop evolving! There’s always room to grow and learn new skills to catapult you to the next level.
All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?
Without fail, I have realized that in my industry the summertime is the SLOWEST season! Even if it looks like it’s not going to happen and it’s going to be a good summer it still ends up being so slow. I’ve started to implement discounted Summer specials, so they are more like a la carte services vs full contract services. Most services that I offer are contract based with a 3 month committment before renewal. During the summer I offer a less intense version of the services at a discounted rate. So instead of a three month committment clients can the service for a month
