We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tom Barber III. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tom below.
Hi Tom, so happy to have you on the platform and I think our readers are in for a treat because you’ve got such an interesting story and so much insight and wisdom. So, let’s start with a topic that is relevant to everyone, regardless of industry etc. What do you do for self-care and how has it impacted you?
I have learned to just slow down to appreciate your surroundings. Simple as smelling a beautiful flower or watching the squirrels play recklessly can change your outlook . With less stress in my life I can be totally effective to create art.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I create driftwood Art. Every stage of these pieces has its own enjoyment. Beginning with Heidi and I finding driftwood nestled in the most beautiful settings. Transforming begins and more excitement builds as the details are added. Attending Art Shows has been educational, but the connections with other artist has been the real reward for me.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Staying focused and believe your product is the best it can be are probably the most important. Learn that everyone may not like your style, but others will be overwhelmed by your creativity.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
I credit my wife Heidi for her determination and belief that my art has amazing value.
