We caught up with the brilliant and insightful MEGAN FURBY a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
MEGAN, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
With finding my purpose my first step was trusting in God and asking to help me with confidence, to find what I am good at and share my life, beliefs and happiness through that. I thought long and hard about what content creating meant to me and what I get from it. I wanted to show my audience that that there is always someone here for you, that someone cares. Also to show off my creative eye, that is a different point of view and to show that it’s okay to be different.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am focused on just being there for my audience, with laughter, happiness and showing what happens in my life. I enjoy being supportive of others, so I try quite often to share a mentality of you can do it with my audience. Also just being a positive person and showing that I care. Another thing that I enjoy doing, is being a digital creator, sharing my point of view and a different eye to art that people can see.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I would say three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that are impactful in my journey would be confidence, creativity and having the knowledge of behind the scenes of digital creating. For trying to develop or improve on these three, first with confidence would be to not let what others think of you bother you. You are your own person and you are special the way you are. Second, with creativity it is seeing what your art is. Showing you creativity side and letting others see what you make. Last is knowledge of behind the scenes of digital creating, if you really want to do it, just learn how to use editing tools, learn different things about a camera, your phone and a computer.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I have been looking for people who want to collaborate, whether it is to make videos, take pictures or get their shop out to more people. It would be cool to have to minds of creativity working together, whether being another digital creator, a photographer, a model, even a type or clothing, coffee, jewelry shop.
