We were lucky to catch up with Tina Nguyen recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tina, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
Hello everyone, my name is Tina Nguyen. I’m a professional hairdresser and makeup artist located in Southlake, Texas. Thank you for having me and for giving me this opportunity to share my story with you all. How did I find my purpose? After I went through a dark time of almost 3 years. By the grace of God I realized that life is too short and is too precious to not embrace and live it to the fullest. I realized that God created us and put us on the earth, we all have our own mission and purpose. God gifted me my talent of beauty and I wanted to use my talent to help people. And I want to touch people’s lives, whoever I get to cross path with. I want to help make people not only pretty on the outside, but also on the inside as well. I want to encourage people and promote self love and self care. I believe that when you take good care of yourself and put yourself first, then you can take good care of other people around you.

Growing up, I’ve always been so passionate about all things beauty and fashion. Not until 2011 when I decided to attend Toni and Guy academy , I never looked back and regretted about my decision. I feel like I’m living my dream. I’m specialized in hair cutting, blonding, and special events makeup and hairstyling. I am very versatile so I can really do anything when it comes to hair and makeup.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back the past 11 years since I’ve been in this beauty industry. Speaking from my experience, three qualities that were most impactful in my journey would be
1. Work hard
2. Never stop learning and improving yourself
3. Consistency
The advices I have for people that are early in their journey would be, whatever that you are pursuing please don’t ever give up on your dreams. Do everything with love and passion, work hard, and you have to BELIEVE in yourself. Think positive, always. You can do it!!!!
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
God and Family is my sources of strength and power. Every time I feel down or overwhelmed, I always turn to him, I say my prayers every day and any time in the day. I pray a lot to keep myself grounded. I always try to think positive and find the goods in everything. I believe being grateful and staying true to yourself is the key to the road of success.
