Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kelli (Sacred) McEwen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Kelli (Sacred), so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
I take one to two days off a week from my business for my self-care! I remember working years without taking a break from my work! Now, I book self-care days for myself at day spas, hot springs, staycations, vacations, and rooftop restaurants!
Before taking time to tend to my mental health via off days, I was caught in a cycle of work exultation. I was operating on little sleep for years. At first I felt like Super Woman! Nothing seemed to be able to stop my flow until one day when I started to fall asleep while driving home!!!
Moving forward, I decide to take an official off day from my business, Divinity Massage & Oasis Spa. It’s helped me to increase my effectiveness at work, decrease my mental fog, promote a better sense of work/life balance and create healthier balances with the way I conduct business!
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I am the owner of Divinity Massage & Oasis Spa. Here I provide a full list of rejuvenating services such as massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing, body scrubs, naturopathic food healing discussions, sound healing, spiritual advice and many other soulful treatments.
I am different from the average spa because I was handcrafted by Source/God to deliver the divine services that I offer! My craft isn’t a job, it’s my obsession! I wholeheartedly love what I do and it shows within each service!
Professionally I am focused on always providing a facility for my clientele to come and allow their stress to melt away! I specialize in crafting treatments that increases ones tranquility, decreases stress and delivers the desired results of each client!
My brand is special because many of my products are home-made! Which means I control what ingredients goes into them! The main ingredients are natural products and love! Allow me the opportunity to care for your skin the way other technicians don’t!
Book online at divinityoasis.com! Also, periodically check our website for our upcoming spa retreats!
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important areas of expertise for me are:
1) Customer service
2) Hospitality
3) Perseverance
The best way to improve in customer service is to take in-person and online certification classes. After doing so, be sure to implement these practices in your business! Create a system of protocols that help you and your staff handle problem solving with customers. Decide your business policies and standards when is comes to appearance (smiling is not optional, it’s a standard.) Know how you’ll reason with your clients during potential conflict.
Hospitality can also be learned online and with practice. It comes with the constant practice of delivering attentive care to customers! Find out what kind of beverage your customers like and write it in their client notes! Have it ready for them when they come in! Provide waters, room temperature or cold, for your clients. Ask them if they need anything like to help them feel more comfortable during their visits. Provide small things like cotton hand towels in the restrooms, a bowl of mints, fruit infused water, etc.
Perseverance is learned by the act of continuously moving forward when you want to throw in the towel!
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I am currently looking to collab with local mom and pop companies such as gyms and health clubs to cross promote our services and memberships to each other’s clientele!
I’d also love to collaborate with a PR manager that values the spa industry! The ideal relationship would be a brand ambassador for my business in exchange of complimentary services!
