Meet Kyla Hope

We were lucky to catch up with Kyla Hope recently and have shared our conversation below.

Kyla, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I have been writing songs since I was five years old. At a certain point you start to ask yourself what else you can write about. I learned that as a singer/songwriter, the best thing you can do is to write what you know. Most of my songs come from my life experiences and then I try to use my creativity to expand those stories in hopes that everyone can relate to them. Whenever I have writers block, I like to get out and just experience life because that always gets my creativity flowing again. I always remind myself that I have the freedom to write whatever I want, so I write what is really in my heart. My main goal is to be able to relate to my listeners and I hope that my stories can mean something to them as well.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I have been singing and songwriting since the day I could talk. My passion for music is so strong, I honestly couldn’t imagine doing anything else with my life. When I was fourteen years old, I began going to “The Loft Sound Studio” in New York. Throughout the years I worked with my producer, Donnie Klang, and came out with multiple original singles and two original EPs. I always had a passion for performing live. A few of my favorite performances were at Carnegie Hall or at the Long Beach Make A Wish A Foundations: Polar Plunge where I sang for 15,000 people. I was also very lucky to be able to work with Robbie Rosen and Keenan Cahill in November of 2020, to release another single, “Fearless”, that was signed by the record label, “Bass Rebels Music”. In the fall of 2021, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Belmont University for music business. I quickly discovered my love for classic rock music. I began to write pop rock songs and really discover who I wanted to be as an artist. This summer I came back to New York and worked long hours with my producer, Donnie Klang, to be able to finish an entire album. I am very excited to announce that my debut album will be released sometime very soon (release date will be announced on my socials). The album consists of ten pop rock songs that tell my story and these songs really do mean everything to me. I’m stoked to share it with the world and I hope my listeners love it as much as I do.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I really believe the three most important qualities to achieve your goals are ambition, confidence and resilience. In the music industry, you are inevitably going to hit your ups and down. The main reason I am where I am today is because I never gave up. You have to believe in yourself before anyone is going to believe in you. Things may not always go the way you hope, but there is always a reason for that in the long run. I still have a long way to go in my career, but nothing will ever diminish my spirit and courage to get there and I hope that others can believe in themselves as well to achieve what they want out of life.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
I think that my biggest area of growth in the past 12 months has been in my music. The album I was able to record this summer took me about a year to write. I spent a lot of time learning who I am this year not only as an artist, but as a person too. I was really able to connect with the lyrics I wrote and spent so much time and effort to perfect these songs to show people my true self. I also created stories within the songs that I hope everyone can really connect to. This album is very different then my past music and it really means everything in the world to me.
