Meet Gary Newberry

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Gary Newberry a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Gary, so happy to have you with us today. You are such a creative person, but have you ever head any sort of creativity block along the way? If so, can you talk to us about how you overcame or beat it?
To prevent writer’s block I try to limit myself to making 1-4 songs a month to avoid burnouts.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Dark Matter, hailing from the vibrant musical landscape of North Carolina, is a groundbreaking music producer who fearlessly merges the realms of heavy metal, trap, and dubstep. Known for his thunderous live performances, Dark Matter ignites stages with a potent blend of explosive energy, live vocals, and captivating frontman-style stage antics. With an innate ability to tap into the primal essence of heavy metal, Dark Matter infuses it with the gritty urban beats of trap and the electrifying bass drops of dubstep. The result is a sonic onslaught that pushes the boundaries of genre conventions and leaves audiences in awe.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Hard work, dedication, and persistence.

What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My production knowledge has boomed in the past year. I plan to never stop learning and growing.
