We recently connected with Chloe Maleski and have shared our conversation below.
Chloe, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
My journey to finding my purpose has been a dynamic and evolving process. I’m a firm believer that our purpose is not a fixed destination, but a continuous journey of growth and self-discovery. Throughout this journey, one principle has remained constant for me: approaching every endeavor with love and compassion.
My path towards my current purpose was illuminated by my personal experiences during my college years as an athlete at Duke University. While there, I encountered significant mental health challenges during that time, and what struck me was the lack of adequate support available. It became clear to me that while we were dedicating a substantial amount of time to our physical training in sports, the mental aspect was often overlooked. As I progressed to higher levels of competition, I realized that the true differentiator between good and great athletes was their mental resilience and strength.
This realization prompted me to delve into the world of sport psychology, neuropsychology, and positive psychology. I found a wealth of research that underscored the profound impact of these disciplines on athletic performance. It was then that I recognized my purpose: to bridge the gap between physical training and mental preparedness in sports. I feel a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to equip athletes, parents, coaches, and teams with the tools and insights that I wished I had during my own challenges.
As I continue along this journey, I embrace the evolving nature of my purpose. I am committed to staying attuned to the changing needs of individuals and teams, integrating new research and approaches, and continually refining my understanding of how to best support the holistic development of athletes. With each step forward, I am guided by the unwavering values of love and compassion, which infuse meaning and depth into everything I do.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

At GrowithClo, our mission is to guide individuals and teams toward achieving their highest potential while maintaining sustainability and well-being. We understand that growth is not just about reaching goals; it’s about fostering lasting transformation.
Founder’s Approach:
My approach to growth is multifaceted. Through personalized one-on-one and group sessions, I combine a unique blend of expertise as a personal trainer, board-certified health coach, and master’s degree holder in psychology. Currently pursuing further education in social work, I recognize the profound impact of both neuropsychology and environmental factors on behavior.
Balancing Act:
What sets GrowithClo apart is the emphasis on balance. In a world that often glorifies burnout, our brand stands for sustainable achievement. I have observed that many high achievers fall into the trap of overexertion, leading to diminished well-being. The solution lies in cultivating self-awareness and equipping clients with tools to excel without compromising their health. Do not get it twisted though, there will be seasons that require less balance, however, it’s all about finding out what works for each individual.
Diverse Expertise:
I proudly embrace being a “jack of all trades in wellness.” This wealth of expertise, from personal training to board-certified health coaching and psychology, empowers me to offer comprehensive guidance. The ongoing pursuit of a social work license at Arizona State University further enriches my capacity to effect positive change.
Impactful Environments:
While neuropsychology holds significance, I recognize that external environments wield a powerful influence on behavior. This awareness drives my commitment to addressing the environmental factors that shape individuals and teams, ultimately leading to enhanced performance and well-being.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on My Journey: Three Impactful Qualities, Skills, or Areas of Knowledge:
Looking back on my journey, I recognize three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that have had a profound impact on my growth and success. For those who are early in their journey, I offer the following advice to help develop and improve upon these aspects:
1) Embracing the Journey:
One of the most transformative realizations I had was the importance of enjoying the journey itself. It might sound cliché, but there’s a profound truth in embracing each day, every step, and every challenge. In the early stages, uncertainty and risks can be daunting, but leaning into these feelings rather than shying away from them has been instrumental. If I had known my venture would succeed, the sense of fulfillment might not have been as potent. My advice to those starting out is to wholeheartedly embrace the uncertainty and take risks. Allow yourself to learn, adapt, and grow from every experience, regardless of the outcome.
2) Dispelling Imposter Syndrome:
Recognizing that even the most accomplished individuals are navigating life’s challenges and uncertainties was a pivotal insight for me. Imposter syndrome, fueled by placing people on pedestals, can be inhibiting. Stepping into rooms where I felt out of my depth initially triggered imposter syndrome. However, I learned that everyone, regardless of their achievements, is on their own journey of growth and discovery. Acknowledging that I possess valuable resources and tools to support others, and committing to continuous learning and growth, helped me overcome imposter syndrome. To those just starting, I encourage you to see others as fellow learners, and know that you have unique strengths to contribute. Approach every interaction as an opportunity to share and learn.
3) Taking the First Steps:
The notion of getting started is a powerful one. Often, individuals are preoccupied with the idea of scaling or expanding their endeavors before even embarking on the initial journey. I’ve found that mastery and expertise come from dedicated practice and experience. Therefore, my advice to newcomers is to prioritize getting started, honing your craft, and mastering your skills. Instead of being consumed by the end goal, focus on the incremental steps that lead to excellence. By immersing yourself in your chosen field and building a solid foundation, you’ll naturally attract the growth and success you aspire to.
In summary, my journey has been enriched by embracing the process, acknowledging our shared human experiences, and prioritizing the initial steps. To those venturing into new territories, I encourage you to internalize these lessons: relish the journey, dispel imposter syndrome by recognizing your own value, and start before you seek to scale. With these principles in mind, you’ll pave a path to fulfilling growth and meaningful accomplishment.
Is there a particular challenge you are currently facing?
The primary challenge I am currently grappling with centers around the realm of social media. While it offers undeniable benefits, I have personally experienced its potential to detrimentally impact mental health. However, the crux of the matter lies in our individual mindset towards it. Regardless of how it’s approached, I firmly believe that social media has the propensity to divert people from the present moment, even if only slightly. For instance, during filming, my complete presence tends to be compromised. This dilemma has proven to be quite intricate for me to navigate, often leading to a constant back-and-forth struggle.
Engaging in social media activities, particularly when documenting or creating content, has frequently left me feeling somewhat detached and worn out. Rarely do I find my emotional wellspring replenished through scrolling or even the act of sharing. The challenge lies in maintaining a harmonious equilibrium between leveraging the platform’s potential to reach a wider audience and safeguarding my own well-being.
Despite these challenges, I am steadfast in my pursuit to strike a balance that aligns with both my personal values and professional objectives. I understand the potential for social media to be a valuable tool for connection and outreach. Therefore, I am dedicated to exploring strategies that allow me to utilize social media effectively without compromising my mental well-being and presence in the present moment. This journey involves continuous introspection, experimenting with mindful engagement, and establishing boundaries that help me navigate the intricate landscape of social media in a way that feels authentic and nourishing.
