Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Reha Habib. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Reha , appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Years of putting in the work, time and effort and seeing great projects come to life. But for me resilience has come mainly from downfalls throughout my career. I have experienced obstacles, rejection and difficult situations that have made me work smarter and realize that with every hardship comes a lesson which you learn from and try to avoid next time or it teaches you do things better.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I started Reha, LLC. in 2016, as a disciplinary design practice that offers full architectural and interior design services. Hossam Shawky, my business partner joined a couple of years later so that we could grow. We do work in the Middle East and the USA, from commercial projects such as boutique hotels, exhibitions, to private residential projects such as villas and beach homes. I am very passionate about architecture and design and love to create functional and beautiful spaces. We usually take project briefs and spin them around a little bit to create one of a kind designs that tailor made for our clients. I am most excited about our studio’s design process which is very creative and thorough, we take a lot of risks that end up in very unique concepts.
We have started launching furniture design, a stone bathtub line and products as a creative outlet that allows people to take our creations home.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Discipline, studying and goal-making. You must have the discipline to keep going, wake up everyday ready to face challenges and also to deliver what you promise to people and/or clients.
You must study your craft, whether it is through traditional education, interning, and even traveling. You have to continue to learn everyday.
Goal-making is so important because it helps you find a purpose, and it helps you map out how you will arrive at the goals you set for yourself. Short term and long term goals are a must when you want to be successful in your career. Especially if you want to start and maintain a business, its important to know what you are trying to achieve.
What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
My parents always emphasized hard work. They taught me that there is no easy route, and you have to put in the work in order to see a successful outcome.
