We were lucky to catch up with Young Raze recently and have shared our conversation below.
Young, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
I get it from all the hard lessons i learned in the past. Without failure you can’t win only the strong survive it takes a strong mind to keep going.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I came from the city of big dreams (New York City) and moving here to Utah gave me the opportunity to show this side my talent. I started off writing in elementary and turned out serious when I hit the recording studio in New York with Wiz Khalifa, French Montana, Big Sean and Nipsey Hussle that I have a true talent. I worked endless nights in the studio with no sleep working on my craft to become a better recording artist. By practicing my craft in front of legends like them it build the confidence to create my own label, magazine, invest in studio equipment and go chase my dreams. So far my record gained 149,000 spins in two weeks and ended up on the radio with global spins.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My advice to you is never give up learn as much as you can and master your CRAFT! Practicing your craft when you feel like giving up builds character! You can’t give up on your craft just because someone told you your music sucks. Just remember all it takes is one good record for your career to take off. When that time comes and your record blows up keep creating!
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Fat Joe since me and him been speaking since of last year he tought me the only way to go is up! Learning how to chime in to your talent to the fullest unleashes the beast inside of you and to be successful in this game you can’t be scared to get out there and get your feet wet.
