We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Liliya Eltantseva a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Hello. My name is Liliya. I’m the owner of LE Permanent Cosmetics clinic and permanent makeup artist in Tampa Bay, FL. I specialize in microblading, permanent eyebrows, lip blushing, eyeliner, lash enhancement, areola micro-pigmentation and corrective techniques. When you see my work, you will see the fine details and my effort to achieve a stunning and personalized look to every client. My knowledge of skin types and color theory is comforting to my clients as I determine the correct approach for each of my procedure. The decisions I make during each appointment are always with my clients best interest, skin condition and personal style in mind. I offer a pain free and relaxing experience, using only sterile surgical steel equipment in a fully sanitized studio environment with up to date insurance, certifications and licenses.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Your business is going to face problems. As three of the main positive characteristics of small business owners passion, persistence, and resilience helps you get through most problems and come out more determined than before. While some jobs can be done for a long time with no real passion, owning a business isn’t one of them. As a business owner, you spend a large amount of time focusing on your company. Unlike a traditional career, you have to have a passion for what you do or you’ll eventually face some sort of burnout.
Running a business doesn’t always go as a planned. Every time something goes wrong with the business, you look for solutions to the problem. You have to be persistent to make it work. Sometimes this means pushing forward through barriers until you get through and sometimes it means finding a completely new route to the goal.
Resilience involves managing your ambitions and stress in healthy and productive ways. You can do this by acknowledging and accepting your feelings, without letting them overwhelm you. Practice self-care and stress management techniques that can help you relax, recharge and cope with pressure. Important aspect of resilience is having a growth mindset, which means seeing challenges as opportunities to learn and improve, rather than as failures. It also requires adapting to change and uncertainty.
There is no straight path to success in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs who become successful usually had to weather the storms before they saw the light of day. It can take years to build a successful business, sometimes a decade.
Take time to learn the skills you lack. Ultimately, your success depends on you.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I would love to work with other beauty professionals and entrepreneurs. If you are in the beauty industry and believe that we can collaborate, let’s discuss our possibilities.
