Hi Thomas, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
As I was growing up, I faced various challenges and setbacks that taught me the importance of maintaining a positive outlook. These experiences have shown me that setbacks are often temporary and can lead to valuable lessons. By choosing to focus on the potential for growth and improvement, I’ve been able to overcome obstacles and continue moving forward. It feels so rewarding to look back on all of the obstacles that I had to overcome. It makes me believe that I can make it through anything.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’m Thomas Wasinski, a visionary entrepreneur, Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, and the founder of Aerial Agents, a pioneering aerial imagery service provider that has redefined the art of visual storytelling. My journey with Aerial Agents began a decade ago, when I embarked on a path fueled by passion, determination, and a belief in the power of innovation.

Aerial Agents was born from a leap of faith and a strong desire to change the way we perceive our surroundings. A decade ago, I took a daring step, Starting a business, quitting my job, clearing out my retirement savings from my 401K account to buy my first drone—a decision that would transform my life forever. With a singular drone and an unyielding spirit, I embarked on a mission to provide clients across various industries with breathtaking aerial imagery that would capture their stories from an entirely new vantage point.

My very first client marked the beginning of an incredible journey—one that was fraught with challenges but brimming with potential. Over the years, Aerial Agents has soared to new heights, accumulating a roster of over 500 satisfied clients hailing from more than 65 diverse industries across the globe. The trust and satisfaction of our clients have translated into seven-figure revenues, a testament to the dedication, quality, and innovation that Aerial Agents brings to every project.

In the pursuit of excellence, I’ve had the privilege of working with professional sports teams, multi-platinum recording artists, construction conglomerates, tourism agencies, and maritime events. Through my lens, I’ve captured events, stories, and moments that might have otherwise gone unnoticed. My commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity has been recognized with an Emmy Award for directing motion pictures, a reminder that passion and persistence can indeed yield remarkable achievements.

As I reflect on the journey so far, I’m excited to celebrate the upcoming 10-year anniversary of Aerial Agents on February 24, 2024. This milestone is a testament to the unwavering dedication of the Aerial Agents team, who share my vision and passion for delivering exceptional results.

When I am not flying cameras, I’m blessed to be a devoted husband to Angie and a proud father to our son, Tommy. Both Angie and I hail from the vibrant landscapes of Cuyahoga County in Northeast Ohio, where our roots run deep, serving as a constant reminder of the values that have guided us on this incredible journey.

In the ever-evolving world of technology and storytelling, Aerial Agents remains at the forefront, shaping narratives and capturing the essence of progress from above. As we journey forward, my vision for Aerial Agents is to continue pushing boundaries, exploring new horizons, and delivering awe-inspiring visuals that stand as a testament to the limitless possibilities of human innovation.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
This journey has forced me to sharpen every skill that pertains to my business. I have grown in every way since starting in 2014. Physically, mentally, spiritually, financially, etc. Here are my Top 3 skills that have helped me grow my business.

Entrepreneurial Grit and Risk-Taking: Embarking on a journey like Aerial Agents required a significant amount of entrepreneurial grit and a willingness to take calculated risks. This quality of embracing challenges head-on and having the courage to take unconventional paths has been paramount in propelling my business forward.

• Embrace Challenges: Recognize that challenges are a natural part of any journey. Instead of shying away from them, view them as opportunities for growth and learning.

• Set Clear Goals: Define your long-term and short-term goals. Having a clear vision will give you direction and help you stay committed, even when faced with obstacles.

• Start Small: Begin with calculated risks that won’t jeopardize your entire venture. Gradually build your risk tolerance as you gain experience and confidence.

Visionary Innovation and Creativity: Your ability to envision a new way of storytelling through aerial imagery has set you apart. For me, “Rhinoceros Success” by Scott Alexander is the book that helped set me on this path. In “Rhinoceros Success”, it talks about how you have to go after what you want like a RHINO! This book encourages you to “thicken your skin” so you don’t get stopped by the thorns on the pricker bushes.

In the book, the author compares two types of people: “cows” and “rhinos.” Cows represent individuals who are content with a passive and complacent approach to life, while rhinos symbolize those who are bold, proactive, and willing to charge ahead to achieve their goals. The book emphasizes the importance of adopting a “rhinoceros mentality” to pursue one’s dreams with relentless energy, enthusiasm, and perseverance.

Scott Alexander uses humor and straightforward language to inspire readers to break free from mediocrity, overcome obstacles, and take control of their lives. The book offers advice on how to develop a confident and fearless attitude, set clear goals, embrace challenges, and maintain a positive outlook.
