Meet Jenny Araiza

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jenny Araiza. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jenny below.

Jenny, so good to have you with us today. We’ve got so much planned, so let’s jump right into it. We live in such a diverse world, and in many ways the world is getting better and more understanding but it’s far from perfect. There are so many times where folks find themselves in rooms or situations where they are the only ones that look like them – that might mean being the only woman of color in the room or the only person who grew up in a certain environment etc. Can you talk to us about how you’ve managed to thrive even in situations where you were the only one in the room?
Believing in myself and my abilities, remembering that I am unique and that everyone has a story. Being open about my challenges and where I come from without fear of being judged and pushing forward no matter how many setbacks I face and reminding myself that it will work out, if not today, tomorrow and that I can reach my goals as long as I am consistent, determined and patient.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I own and operate Iza Makeup, a permanent makeup salon in Upland, CA. where I help people enhance their natural beauty and help them get their confidence back. Being able to provide services that are truly changing and helping people’s lives is a blessing and is something that I am proud of.

Many people suffer from over plucking their eyebrows, have survived cancer, have Alopecia, or have suffered illness or accidents that cause them to not feel great about themselves and permanent makeup and paramedical treatments are helping them get their confidence back with procedures like Microblading.

This industry has changed so many people’s lives from the artists and clients, just like it has changed mine. It is truly one of the most rewarding professions out in the market today. As to why, one of my missions is to help others change their life and gain stability by entering the world of permanent makeup, so they too can help others with my 3-IN-1 Eyebrow Training course, which is a step-by-step, learn as you go training. My training is a 6 month online course with 4-day in person class with models. This Includes a final exam on a live model on month six to obtain your final certification. This course is designed to introduce you to the world of semi-permanent makeup so that you can become a working SPMU artist. The best part is – No experience is needed! In this course you will learn three popular eyebrow techniques. Microblading (Hair strokes with manual tool), Ombre Powder Brows (Pixel makeup effect with Machine), MicroShading (Microblading & Ombre Powder)

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In order to be successful it is important to have a positive mindset. You can have all of the skills and knowledge to do the job but if your mind is not right, you will not get very far. It is important to have a plan in mind, setting short and long term goals, but also remembering that it is okay if you fall short and being determined to push forward no matter the setback. I believe having your mind right, will take you a long way.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Yes, I love making new friends in any industry, from beauty to tech, we all have a story and can learn from each other. If you want to collaborate on a POD, IG take over, or a social feature send me a DM on Instagram at @izamakeup or visit my website www.izamakeup.LA and go to contact us.
