Meet Coach Dee Coleman

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Coach Dee Coleman . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Coach Dee, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
As a queer life coach/author I define confidence as an act of self-love and expression. Having the courage to live authentically and unapologetically. This wasn’t always the case for me. At 40 years old, I have finally found my voice in this world. I know my mission and my purpose of being here in this physical and spiritual realm. As I heal my wounded inner child and free myself from a cage of limitations integrated in my mind from trauma, I inspire others to take the inner journey of self-love and shadow healing. This is where our confidence is activated. We learn to believe in ourselves, trust ourselves and live in our truths fearlessly. For me, I add both inner and outer expression to my self-confidence.

My style is unique. It’s me. It’s empowering and magnetic. It’s love and it’s felt. That’s an energy that can’t be matched. I’ve learned that I am me, no one else. And that keeps me grounded and safe within myself. Self-love elevated my confidence. I used to chase validation, approval from others and I feared being disliked. I wanted everyone to like me and there were times this mindset crushed me as I had to learn when people don’t always like themselves, they won’t always like you. What a powerful discovery. I got to know my inner child on an intimate level. The closer I got to her, the more I healed. I listened, I observed behaviors, I became aware of so much especially the negative thoughts. This helped me love myself differently. Healing my inner child gave me strength and a chance to experience life from a space of love rather than pain. As long as I know me, I don’t worry about anything else.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
My name is Dee Coleman also known as Coach Dee. I am a Queer Life Coach, Author, & Salon Suite Owner. I am the owner and founder of Dee’Tox Life Coaching Services. I help people worldwide with self-love and inner trauma healing especially those in the Queer community. I’ve written two books with a third currently in the works. After over 15 years in the social services/mental health sector and obtaining a Master’s degree in Psychology, I knew it was my mission to help others heal and live authentically as I discovered it.

I also am the co-owner of Creative Beauty Salon Suites, here in Duncanville, TX. My wife and I recently opened for business back in June of 2023. We have 8 suites which are leased to beauty professionals/entrepreneurs seeking to expand and grow their businesses. I also recently became a queer/masc presenting model this year. It was a dream I wanted to fulfill and it happened. The more I love myself, the more I create/manifest the life of my dreams.

Self-love is a lifestyle for me and as I share my healing journey with others, it is a hope that my life is a true example of showing that you can do anything and that despite any odds or setbacks, it’s all possible!

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Looking back, I believe the three qualities that aided in my resiliency was my faith, my courage and my heart. I am also a very resourceful and compassionate person. I know how to connect with people which was the greatest strength to tap into. I knew that the more vulnerable and relatable I became, I could tap into the emotions of others. This creates safety and building community with intention and unconditional support is key.

Wherever you are on your journey, be there. One of the toughest lessons I’ve learned is trying to rush growth. You can’t rush divine timing. We need every moment and every experience as we become who we desire to be. It’s just liking growing a plant. You can’t rush the process. Water it, nourish it with sunlight, love, and intentional care daily and overtime you’ll see the growth, the blossoming. Adopt grace and patience and the journey will be a beautiful ride. That’s my advice. Do the same with your mental health, your mind. It matters.

Let the journey flow. Don’t force it. Let love lead and the love will expand.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is me. Compassionate, patient, honest. Not trying to be perfect, but open to learning, open to discovering deeper parts of self, open to being true to who they are unapologetically, not afraid but courageous. Willing to try no matter what and bet on themselves. Willing to go the journey and stay committed to their own growth. And as they heal, share their light with others authentically where the love radiates from their being. Yes, my ideal client knows they are their most important assignment and will not give up on it!
