We recently connected with Samantha Strazanac and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, thank you so much for opening up with us about some important, but sometimes personal topics. One that really matters to us is overcoming Imposter Syndrome because we’ve seen how so many people are held back in life because of this and so we’d really appreciate hearing about how you overcame Imposter Syndrome.
As a business owner and marketing professional, I still occasionally battle imposter syndrome. Despite achieving a certain level of success in my career, I’m often held back by the fear that others may consider me an impostor or not good enough for my job role. But instead of letting this feeling take over my life and knock me down, I’ve learned how to use it as motivation and keep pushing forward. When I sense imposter syndrome creeping in, I take the time to reflect on my accomplishments and remind myself that I do belong. It’s also incredibly helpful to talk through it with someone who can provide support and encouragement during moments of self-doubt. For me, that person is my Creative Director, Caroline Wisner. She and I have worked together professionally for about a decade, and she has seen me grow and succeed as well as fail. I truly rely on her to shake me out of any imposter syndrome feelings that occasionally hit me.
Above all else, I’ve learned how important it is to stay focused on my goals and trust in my abilities. With the right attitude and a commitment to continually learning and growing, I’ve moved past imposter syndrome (for the most part) and focused on pursuing success with confidence.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Thanks for asking! I’m a proud mom to a sweet two-year-old girl. I also have three adorable chihuahuas and an incredible husband who supports me despite my long hours. Recently, we’ve joined forces with a company based in Tennessee to offer even more services to our clients. This includes printing, trade show booths, apparel, EDDM, and promotional items. The best part is that we handle everything in-house, so we can provide these products at a lower cost.
Right now, we’re working on various website projects, both building new ones and redesigning existing ones. We’re also heavily involved in business consulting to help businesses reduce chaos and increase productivity. I excel in helping small businesses develop streamlined systems and processes that lead to greater efficiency and success, it’s truly a passion project for me. I love working with small and medium-sized businesses, though we do have experience working with larger companies as well, they are their own niche in themselves and often require a different approach than larger companies.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Unlocking my success is a journey paved with many necessary skills and qualities, but I was asked to list my top three most impactful qualities, so I’ll keep it to the three that jumped to the top of my mind. Creative thinking, organization, and the power to ask for assistance are three of the key ingredients that have propelled me forward. Creative thinking breathes life into finding fresh solutions for both professional and personal obstacles. Staying organized and armed with the right tools prevents anything from slipping through the cracks. And understanding the importance of seeking help when necessary is a humbling reminder that no one can be an expert in everything. These invaluable skills have set the course for triumph in both my career and personal life.
For those embarking on their own path, it’s not only important to have these skills but to know how to improve them. Life is like a class that never ends; you’ll keep learning until your last breath.
First and foremost, embrace the power of creative thinking. This is one that so many people fail to consider necessary in success. Challenge the status quo and seek novel answers to business hurdles. Just because something worked in the past doesn’t mean there isn’t a better way.
Secondly, let organization be your trusty sidekick. Utilize the tools that efficiently manage tasks and schedules, be it technology, alarms, or good old-fashioned to-do lists. The key, however, lies in consistently using these tools. Remember, the Reminders app on your phone is no use to anyone if you never open it, as is an alarm if you just turn it off and don’t get out of bed.
Lastly, never shy away from seeking help. Reach out to professionals in your field or mentor figures who have already achieved success. We all need support, so don’t hesitate to ask for it. I like to follow the philosophy that if you’re the smartest one in the room…then you’re in the wrong room.
