Meet Courtney Andersen

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Courtney Andersen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Courtney, we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
My self-confidence started the day I quit drinking alcohol. I was in a cycle of addiction for ten years with alcohol from nineteen to twenty-nine. When I stopped the madness, I slowly rebuilt my self-esteem by changing my actions and diving into personal development.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am an Author, Host of the Sober Vibes Podcast, Founder of National Sober Day, and Sober Coach. I help women quit drinking alcohol and thrive in Sobriety. I founded Sober Vibes in 2016, an online community for Sober and Sober curious women, and also founded National Sober Day. I quit drinking in 2012, and it was the best decision of my life. I felt like there was so much missing in the sobriety space, and that’s why I have created Sober Vibes and all that has followed since. My book Sober Vibes: A Guide To Thriving In Your First Three Months Without Alcohol is out now.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’ve wanted to help people since I was a kid and give back. I think when you have always had a passion for something, it’s best to act on it with good intentions. I know that the desire to help others is how Sober Vibes was created. I think if you are early on in your business, you have to always start with what your intention is. Your choice will always guide you in the right direction.

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
It’s not what they did but more of what my mom always said to me. She would say, “You can do anything you put your mind to.” and “Be anything you want to be.” For me, that always stuck because she was right.
