Pegauh, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
I think my optimism comes from the fact that I realized how important your thoughts really are. Your thoughts determine so much of the outcome in anything you are trying to achieve and do, so I can’t stress enough how important it is to remain positive and optimistic. If you look at almost if not every successful person, you can see how their thoughts about themselves and what they wanted to accomplish, along with their optimism is what got them to where they are. You can either look at the glass half empty or half full, I tend to always choose to look at it half full, because when trying to manifest anything into your reality you have to remain grateful.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
About six years ago, I started my business, Lux Life Consulting, which is a boutique fashion PR firm based in Los Angeles. What I love the most about this is being surrounded by really hardworking and talented creatives. On one end I get to work and represent brands, and on the other end I get to work with such amazing stylists. Both sides have been such a pleasure because I get to see the ins and outs of what it takes to build a successful brand. I have been able to give insight and creative input on designs for some of the brands I work or have worked with, and other ideas like branding, events, all the different aspects of pr – pr packages/gifting/seeding/influencer marketing, etc. Then bridging that in with getting to know and see first hand all the hardwork that goes behind creating a look for celebrity. People don’t really see how much work a stylist does to create a look and what goes into that, and some of the stylists I get to work with have become some of my really good friends.
Right now, I am also in the middle of launching a creative agency, NP Worldwide, with one of my best friends, Natalie. NP Worldwide is something we have been working on for the past few year. Natalie is a creative and a designer, and we met when I was doing PR for her clothing line and we just instantly clicked. NP Worldwide goes beyond what Lux Life Consulting can offer, as we cover everything from even product design to content creation. We created NP Worldwide to be a one stop shop for any brand, where whatever it is you might need, we got you covered, hence the NP standing for No Problem, and also a spin on Natalie and Pegauh.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I’m not sure if this is a skill or quality, but I think the most important thing is not letting any type of rejection or no get to you. Sometimes when you are starting something you can get a lot of doors closed on you and hear a lot of no’s but making sure to stay positive and not let it get to you is the best skill anyone can have. Especially starting a business, it’s never easy and sometimes you can find yourself questioning if this is the right thing for you when you have been hearing a lot of no’s, but you just got to continue and stay positive.
Another skill is being persistent. It kind of goes hand in hand with the above. Sometimes you won’t even hear a no, you just won’t hear anything, so you have to keep at it. Whatever you want in life, if you stay persistent, and if you stay positive, eventually it will come.
Being resourceful is a major key. We have so much information available at our fingertips, so we have the ability to find things out if we want. If there is a will, there is a way so I think having that mindset and learning from my dad how important it is to be resourceful really helped me along my journey, and starting a business.
Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Ask and it is given has played an important role in my development. I think learning the of law of attraction and realizing how much of our thoughts create our reality was one of the most eye opening things in my life. In the book they breakdown how you can use the law of attraction and how important our thoughts / the way we speak and how we feel are. I try to be more mindful of my words and how I use them because once you realize how powerful they are, you won’t just say anything anymore. Being mindful of the words you use when you talk about yourself, what you want in your life – avoid talking about what you don’t want – speak what you want into your life and focus your energy on the good / best possible outcomes, act as whatever it is that you want is already here and feel that feeling as if it is – that is the biggest key to manifesting.
