Meet Bayley Jordan

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bayley Jordan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bayley below.

Bayley, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I keep my creativity alive by taking my camera and drones everywhere I go, exploring as much as I can. If I’m not working with my clients for a portrait session, you will still find me spending time outdoors, whether it be biking amidst the beautiful deserted and forested landscapes around the State; camping with friends and family around the crackling campfire; or exploring a new hiking trail in a National Park. I’m outside daily in search of the gorgeous, golden-hour glow from our spectacular Arizona sunrises and sunsets. I love capturing travel images as the sunset sweeps across the stunning landscapes.

I find the greatest photographic joy in creating and capturing connections between beautiful people and places wherever I go. As my business has grown, I’ve traveled all around the State and the Southwest to produce classic, colorful portraits for my clients at their dream outdoor destinations.

My cameras and drones are my constant companions every time I step foot out the front door.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I have been a professional photographer for 10 years specializing in working with chic, caring couples and sociable, stylish senior graduates. I couldn’t ask for a better business – I’ve met so many wonderful people through this work that I now call close friends. I love being able to bring out their individual beauty, help their personalities shine, and capture their memories to look back on for years to come.

As I touched on previously, one of the most special aspects of my business is that I am one of the few Northern Arizona portrait photographers that is also an FAA Part 107 certified and insured drone pilot. A lot of hard work and study went into obtaining the license (along with all of the flight time!) so it is an achievement I am very proud of. I ensure all laws and regulations set-forth by the FAA are followed and I conduct extensive airspace research in planning all sessions, coordinating with clients accordingly. With aerial photography, I can offer increased variety as part of my portrait sessions isn’t possible as part of a standard portrait session utilizing a camera at ground-level.

I also offer stunning, unique scenic prints as home and office décor that truly captures the spectacular state of Arizona. It is always such a thrill to see my work incorporated into the interior design of my client’s spaces.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My passion, perseverance, and ability to stay personable have been huge drivers of my business. Honestly, I follow the golden rule to treat others how I would like to be treated whether business connections or my clients. I constantly ask myself what I would want on the other side in any professional situation and act accordingly.

Finding mentors in the field with a similar drive and work-ethic to my own made all the difference early on. So I would advise others early in their photographic journeys to connect with professionals already in the field and learn all they can. Some of the experts I met through my early ambassadorship with Women Who Drone in 2019, like Yasmin Tajik and Amanda Ochs, became fast friends and have always been so giving with their time and advice whenever I need. We now collaborate annually on a few fun aerial and portrait sessions and I cherish every moment I spend with those lovely ladies.

I always continue to expand my skill set and grow as a professional, so I listen to podcasts during my commutes to and from sessions. I also love to read. I create an annual business book list I make my way through during my downtime. When all is said and done, I want to be proud that I have learned all I could about my chosen field to better serve my clients, each and every day.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
Of course!

I love working with local hair and makeup artists, models, photographers, and stylists collaborating on creative portrait sessions when my busy schedule allows.

Those are also some of the parties I’d love to interview for an upcoming podcast I’m developing to help prepare clients for sessions.

Please reach out to me on my website at https://bayleyjordanphotography/contact. I’d love to work with you!
