Meet Justin Rubin

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Justin Rubin a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Justin, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Overall, staying creative and adapting as a business requires a willingness to be flexible, take risks, and invest in your employees and customers. By embracing change and fostering a culture of innovation, businesses can stay competitive and thrive in today’s rapidly changing market.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I assist basketball players who are looking to play at the professional level internationally with exposure and job placement. A large majority of college basketball players won’t be able to play in the NBA but their are a ton of leagues overseas looking to sign American players. My job is to assist players who may go overlooked that have the potential to become a professional basketball player.

I also assist NBA, NFL, & UFC athletes looking to build/scale their own personal brands. Many sports agents will negotiate a players contract but don’t assist with off-the-court/field/ring marketing. When I work with an athlete on marketing, I help them with merch design, public relations, brand deals & marketing endorsements.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Stay organized- as your business grows you need to be able to keep track of contacts, transactions, special events. etc…

Network as much as possible- you never know who you may be talking to and the relationships they may have. Networking has gotten me to where I am today.

Surround yourself with people who make you a better person- I always believe if you surround yourself with great people who bring positive vibes to your life, success will come easier.

What has been your biggest area of growth or improvement in the past 12 months?
Turning a service into a brand. I know my service is beneficial but I want people to also know the Pro Connect name as a brand. I want to be able to see a basketball player in public repping a Pro Connect t-shirt because they support the service and the brand. I am confident to say Pro Connect is almost at that point!
