Jasmine , we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I found my purpose by being my authentic self and identifying the things I care about. Purpose is all about applying your skills toward contributing to the greater good in a way that matters to you. As a child, I was able to embrace my innovative personality as a leader. I identified my excitement about hair, fashion and beauty at an early age, I always dreamed of being an Entrepreneur in the Beauty Industry. I started working in a Beauty Salon in middle school, Tracey Davis was my inspiration/ Mentor, she taught me everything I needed to know about hair, I’m a visual learning so it was easy for me to grasp the concept. To find purpose, it helps to foster positive emotions, like awe and gratitude. That’s because each of these emotions is tied to well-being, caring about others, and finding meaning in life, which all help us focus on how we can contribute to the world. I eventually fully tapped into the makeup industry, my friend went to school for it, and I learned by watching her and YouTube. Later, I obtained my Makeup Certification. After years of experience and gaining more knowledge, I created my own Cosmetic Line, Beauty by A’meera. My mission is to allow all women to embrace their beauty within their unique selves. Beauty by A’meera embraces women empowerment, together we can conquer the one, one woman at a time. As we continue to grow, my platform will allow women to tell their story, while we use makeup to allow them to feel comfortable and bold within themselves.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Jasmine Peterson, the CEO and Owner of Beauty by Ameera, an all-natural Cosmetic Line. Beauty by A’meera Launched in 2020, during a major economic downturn. We started with 6 classic matte lipsticks and have added over 10 new products since the launch. The first 3 months of business, we completely sold out of all products on numerous occasions, a good problem to have. It’s definitely a blessing and an honor, for the outpouring of support we received from family, friends and strangers. We were able to connect with women that we may have never met, we also met a lot of our customer in person by participating in local events. We are not just a brand; we embrace beauty nationwide and give back to our local community. In the near future, we are adding more products to our cosmetic line and increasing our online Prescence, with more marketing and social media interaction. The excitement I enjoy about having my own cosmetic line, when I’m out in public, my smile and personality is my brand. To be asked what lipstick you are wearing, makes me excited, I keep my pursues stocked with business cards. I’m approachable and will help anyone decide on a lipstick shade or take them out their comfort zone. Makeup enhances your beauty and brightens your day at times you may not be feeling your best. There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
1. Leadership skills played a major role in my career and business. 2. Taking the risk and identifying my passion. 3. Understanding Entrepreneurship, knowing my target market and identifying those needs and wants.
The best advice I can give is, find a Way or Make a Way, never give up on your dreams and desires. They were given to you for a reason so implement them. Mentors and Leaders are great to help you on your journey. Also, plan for the known and known, enjoy all aspects of the journey because that what make it so special. Stay connected to your audience as their needs and wants may change.
What’s been one of your main areas of growth this year?
My biggest area of growth in the past 12 months has been self-care, healing and strengthening my relationship with God. Tapping into my inner self and evolving in ways that will take me to the next level in life. As a butterfly, people see the beauty of it but never know all the obstacles it takes to become a butterfly. I have strong wings and my desires in life are intentional. Daily mediation, journaling, working out and connecting with nature, has been my motivation and drive.
