Meet Hannah Dovnik

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Hannah Dovnik. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hannah, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I have found my purpose through the hard times. When challenges arise, we have to face our priorities head on. I learned very quickly, once you love fiercely and create boldly, you will never run out of purpose. I graduated film school during a pandemic. I watched the entertainment industry historically shut down twice as I start my career. Learning that feeding my heart first led me to start my own businesses instead. Now I take care of sweet animals and make content on my own schedule. I found my purpose investing in stories I care about and play with dogs in the meantime.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I love documenting the life of a dog. Storytelling through wagging tails has become a passion of mine. My education is in entertainment and acting, and I tend to favor my furry talent. They have so much character, sharing their day or doing a photo shoot with a handsome pup has been the biggest treat of my job!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Starting is the hardest part, starting over gets easier. Perfection or fear of judgment is never worth not trying. The people who value you and your art will alway find you, so be as bold and honest as possible. And TRY to have fun!

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I like having multiple creative projects going at once, so I always have goals and new things in the works! Since the summer of strikes has affected many of my friends and graduates, I have been finding fun ways to create and bring people together. Instagram is the easiest place to get invites and info. I like hosting film watch parties with creatives to spark creativity and inspire collaborations. Plus, who doesn’t love a theme??? And since the pandemic, watch parties are virtual too. I’m always looking for photographers, actors, illustrators, and film crew to keep creating with!
