Leanna, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
Staying creative in screen printing and embroidery is all about staying fresh and open-minded. I draw inspiration from fashion trends, my travel experiences, and even social media. Continuous learning and experimenting with new techniques and materials are a big part of it. But what really keeps me inspired is collaborating with others. Working with fellow creatives and understanding my clients’ vision helps me think outside the box and come up with unique designs for them. It’s a mix of staying trendy, learning, and collaborating that fuels my creativity in this industry.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
When I reflect on my journey, these three things have stood out:
Persistence: It’s all about that never-give-up attitude. Embrace the grind, stay persistent, and keep pushing forward.
Perfection: Becoming a true pro at screen printing and embroidery is key. Invest time in perfecting your craft and delivering top-notch quality.
Stay Social: Networking is gold. Build strong relationships because you never know who might become your next big opportunity.
In summary: hustle hard, perfect your craft, and network like your business depends on it – because it does.
How would you spend the next decade if you somehow knew that it was your last?
Right now, Mazzeffes is dealing with the challenge of keeping up with the quick growth. It’s cool to see the business thriving and more people coming our way. But, making sure we can still deliver top-notch quality and service while growing takes some juggling. I’m really grateful for this challenge though – it means my hard work is paying off, and the customers trust Mazzeffes. Mazzeffes is all in though – website updates are in the works to collect new orders and collaborate with social media influencers and business owners!
