We recently connected with Hanieh Sigari and have shared our conversation below.
We’d love to learn more about you, your story and what you are focused on professionally – whether it’s a business, nonprofit, artistic career etc. Please tell our readers about what you do, what you feel is most exciting or special about it, as well as anything else you’d like folks to know about your brand/art/etc. If relevant, please also tell our readers about anything new (events, product/service launches, expansion, etc)
So much of what drives me today is rooted in my own early experiences, and my desire to prevent others from going through what I have in the past. As a child, newly arrived in America, the first people who accepted me were the elderly residents of my building. They became my friends and family, grounding me and making me feel like I belonged—but before long, I lost them all to the ravages of age and time.
Determined to make a difference and help more people remain independent in old age, I established my first business venture—a home healthcare company. However, running the company took its toll and I neglected my own health. When I finally realized the damage I was doing, I sought a quick fix: lap band surgery. But the universe had other plans.
Following months of medical complications, debilitating pain, and financial burdens, I found myself back where I started, only with a renewed determination to make real, lasting change in the world.
What came next was Qyral—a testament to my enduring spirit, unwavering commitment, and the wisdom garnered from years of research and personal experience. At its core, Qyral is more than just a company; it’s a community. Rooted in empowerment and driven by science, it’s where my background in biochemistry merges seamlessly with my expertise in gerontology. But Qyral’s mission is broader than just offering groundbreaking products; it’s about fostering an age-well revolution.
Dismantling the fear around aging, Qyral is at the forefront of creating an empowered understanding of the aging process. We’ve debunked myths and challenged conventional anti-aging rhetoric, focusing instead on holistic, comprehensive solutions. Our meticulously crafted, prescription-grade products, supported by robust scientific research and endorsed by medical professionals, embody this ethos.
But there’s another dimension to Qyral, one that is deeply personal to me. Echoing the wisdom imparted to me, that the true purpose of life is to share our gifts, Qyral is more than a company—it’s a community. It’s not just about products; it’s about empowering individuals. As the pioneer of personalized social-selling, Qyral offers opportunities for budding entrepreneurs to flourish and share in our vision. Our success isn’t just in sales or statistics; it’s in the stories of individuals we’ve touched, empowered, and transformed.
My journey from a little immigrant girl, through the trials of obesity and the challenges of entrepreneurship, to the founder of a brand dedicated to a positive, empowered approach to aging has been long and arduous. But it’s this journey that makes Qyral unique. Every product, every strategy, every initiative has a story, a piece of me, and a vision for a better, more empowered future.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
In reflecting on my journey, three qualities emerge as the golden threads that have interwoven every step, every challenge, and every triumph: Passion, Persistence, and Determination.
Passion: Every great story, every innovation, and every masterpiece finds its roots in passion. It’s the fire that kindles within us, pushing us beyond our limits. When you embark on any endeavor, be it entrepreneurial or artistic, it’s this burning passion that becomes the North Star, guiding and anchoring you. It is what breathes life into dreams, and what pulls you out from beneath the covers each morning. My advice? Cultivate that passion. Nourish it. Let it be your Why. If you don’t feel that fire, that undying spark for what you’re doing, rethink your path. Because without passion, the journey can become a weary one.
Persistence: Every road to success is paved with challenges, and while passion is the compass, persistence is the fuel. It’s the grit and resilience to face those mounting odds and say, “I will continue.” It’s not about avoiding falls; it’s about rising every single time you stumble. Greatness is not achieved overnight. It’s the accumulation of countless hours, efforts, and even failures. Malcolm Gladwell’s 10,000-hour rule resonates with me so much—mastery demands time, effort, and, most of all, persistence. To those at the dawn of their journey, remember: the difference between success and surrender is often just a little more persistence.
Determination: If passion is the fire and persistence the fuel, determination is the indomitable spirit that refuses to be extinguished. It’s the unwavering belief in oneself, in one’s vision, even when the world may doubt you. Determination isn’t about being the smartest in the room, or having the best resources; it’s about having an unyielding spirit. It’s about facing adversity, heartbreak, and myriad setbacks, and still forging ahead. Failure is often just a pit-stop before success, and the only true defeat is in letting go. To those on this journey: wear your determination as armor. It will shield you in your darkest hours.
I strongly believe that while every journey is unique, these cornerstones remain universal. Embrace them, live by them, and you’ll find that the world isn’t something to be merely lived in; it’s something to be conquered. To every dreamer, creator, and visionary: your path may be steep and rugged, but with passion, persistence, and determination, the summit is within reach.
Where do you get your work ethic from?
My mother has always been my inspiration. As a social worker in Iran, the impact she’s had in people’s lives leaves me in awe. She is the reason I do what I do and her example keeps me focused to work hard and push through the hardest of times. When I was establishing my business plan for Qyral, it was my mom’s example that drove me to develop our groundbreaking consultant training program, offering real ways for women to achieve financial independence and social mobility.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities, or knowledge you needed to be successful?
I can’t pinpoint one person because I believe I’m the byproduct of all the mentors who have come into my life at different points, who have given me the gifts of their time, love, and dedication. It’s important to surround yourself with really incredible people who have your best interests at heart. People who are your biggest cheerleaders. People who are not afraid to tell you the truth, as hard as it may be. Of course my mother was my first source of inspiration. My partner Darius has been an incredible mentor and was the first person to introduce me to the world of business. I’m inspired by our Qyral consultants and their hard work and determination. I’m so lucky to have had amazing people in my life. I believe in the law of attraction and manifesting, and the universe has been so wonderful to me.
