We were lucky to catch up with Crystal Wilson recently and have shared our conversation below.
Crystal, we are so appreciative of you taking the time to open up about the extremely important, albeit personal, topic of mental health. Can you talk to us about your journey and how you were able to overcome the challenges related to mental issues? For readers, please note this is not medical advice, we are not doctors, you should always consult professionals for advice and that this is merely one person sharing their story and experience.
I think the first step to overcoming challenges related to mental health issues is to first admit and recognize that you need help! So many people are afraid to admit that they are dealing with some very detrimental issues in life. I started going to therapy over a year ago and it has helped me so much. I have discovered so many things about myself that I never even knew were rooted inside of me. You may have a clinical diagnosis and not even know it. It is so much deeper than talking to friends and family. God has placed professionals on this earth to help us too and we need to utilize them.
Part of my process in overcoming this is sharing my testimonies with others and having a strong support system. The word tells us that we will overcome by the blood of the lamb, and by the power of our testimony (Revelations 12:11). I used to be afraid to share my testimony, until I realized that there are hundreds of people that may be dealing with the same thing that I have been through. Sharing your testimony helps others see the Glory of God in your life and inspires others to know that If God did it for you, he can do it for them as well!
Having a strong support system is very important and I got an even deeper revelation of this when my husband passed away this past July 2023. Having my friends and family show up for me in a capacity that I couldn’t even understand really reminded me of how much I was loved.
Know that you are loved no matter what, and there are hundreds of people rooting for you than you may even realize.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I found my first passion for entrepreneurship back in 2016. I started to really take my walk with God and health seriously during this time. I obtained my Personal Training Certification and started doing group training online.
I then later targeted my focus on Book Publishing. I have always been a writer at heart and wanted to learn how to publish my own written works as well as help others do the same. This was when the Holy Spirit gave me the name of my second business The Entrepreneurial Push LLC (Entrepreneurs Pushing Through). This came through a 90-day prayer challenge back in February 2019. I started my very own 30-day writing course, and the rest was history. Not only did The Entrepreneurial Push become a writing and publishing business, but it also became a motivating movement for young entrepreneurs all over the world.
Since starting The Entrepreneurial Push, we have successfully facilitated the publication of over 10 books for a diverse range of authors, provided comprehensive support through marketing initiatives, content generation for social media platforms, and innovative book cover designs.
So many more business endeavors came from EP (The Entrepreneurial Push) to include, The Real & The Righteous Podcast (alongside founder- Shannon Gantt, my sister) Which we started in August of 2021, as well as our Business and Networking Conference “Push and Pour”.
Push and Pour is where I am choosing to focus my energy on this season, and I am super excited about what God is doing through it.
We are planning the 2nd annual Push and Pour conference July 18-21, 2024, In Myrtle Beach, SC. Push and Pour is a faith-filled business and networking event for Kingdom Entrepreneurs and upcoming entrepreneurs.
Push & Pour is for those who need a faith-filled push and may have experienced some obstacles within their personal lives and businesses. Entrepreneurs can come here to innovate and grow their businesses.
At Push and Pour 2024, this year, entrepreneurs will learn how to work with the largest customer in the world, and how to make their business recession proof by learning about government contracting, learn how to get their business bank ready, marketing and ads, and how to apply for grants.
They will also learn how to manifest their dreams and shift their mindset.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The most important three qualities that were most impactful in my journey would most definitely be discipline, consistency, and faith. As an entrepreneur (especially still on my 9-5) it takes so much discipline, consistency, and faith. You have to be willing to go the distance, when you don’t see anything manifesting yet. You have to really push yourself to work on your business in the wee hours of the morning, late at night, or even on your lunch break at work.
My advice for those who are early in their journey would be to do the following:
1,) For discipline, you have to really hon in on what God is wanting you to focus on in this season (you also have to have discernment to know when it may be time for you to pivot), You may have to fast, turn down dinner dates, parties, and lunch breaks to focus on your purpose and understand the calling on your life. You have to understand, you can’t do everything that everyone else is doing because you have a goal that you must reach and that goal is going to require you to sacrifice something (whether it be time, or money), You may not see the fruits of your labor right away, but trust and believe that harvest season will come for you in due time.
2.) For consistency, you have to continue to show up for your audience. Not always trying to sell them something, but to give value. This is not always easy, and you won’t always feel like it, but it will be worth it in the end. Show your audience the real and authentic you.
3.) Lastly, you definitely must have faith on this journey, I mean BIG faith. Everyone will not understand the journey that you are on, and that’s ok. You have to believe in the vision that God has placed inside of you and go full force with it. Remember, Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. You have to believe this for yourself and know that God indeed wants to prosper you and your business! God believes in you!
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
We are seeking Sponsorship in this season for our next Push and Pour event for 2024. We would love to collaborate with future sponsors that are in alignment with The Entrepreneurial Push’s vision as well as the future Sponsors vision.
We are also seeking to connect with entrepreneurs who want to grow their businesses. They can connect with us by emailing epushmovement@gmail.
